I was passing a high street computer shop and nearly fell over. Under new releases, a box with the title KickOff2002 with the original artwork of Kickoff2.
Rushed home, got on the web to see what it was all about, found this site and have read it top to bottom. Good job on this site by the way, all involved.
I was a huge fan of KO2 and played it for about 7 years till all my teenage friends moved on. I easily regard it as the best footy game of all time.

Anyway, my point is, after a while (7years)we decided that playing Div3 was the most entertaining way to play. G.Page in goal for starters has no hands, just arm stumps which he parries the ball around for many a goalmouth scrabble, and in the last 2*min of a 2*5 match fatigue becomes a real factor. It just seemed more entertaining. Also, you do play with light wind on?

Wind is always off when I play Kick Off II.
I agree that playing in div3 is more fun than with the highest speed and level settings with team A and B.
90% of the games I play are in The League, 1st or 3rd division, 100% speed, Soggy pitch, and Willis as referee, 2x3 or 2x5 minutes.
That's Kick Off II on it's best in my opinion.

A small amount of wind stops repetitive play as the same move is not going to work every match. Vital if gameplay is going to remain fresh I think
Any gags about flatulence are outlawed by the way!

I always use no wind, but if I want to have fun, I choose "strong". <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">

Has anyone ever score a goal from a goal kick? The wind discussion reminded me of this. I done it a couple of times years ago.

Basicsally you select a plastic pitch for maximum bounce and maximum wind. Lets say for example the wind is behind you and to the left. You kick it up the pitch to the right, the wind will swing it back in and it gathers huge pace on its way and on the bounce. Anyway it once went in for me of the underside of the bar and also once the keeper spilled it into the net.

I cant quite remember if i did it as a goal kick from the right or left side of the six yard box or as a kick from the goalkeepers hands from a specific position in the box. But im off to try it again and find out!

The only problem with light winds is that an inswinging corner can be put straight in. This is quickly followed by a torid of abuse from your oppenent (for scoring like a girl), and the start of corner wars for the duration of the match.

Welcome Runty, by the way <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">
Blimey! I have'nt played with wind on ages, may try it this evening. I seem to remember scoring some 'extreme' goals with wind on strong and playing on a plastic pitch!!

Normally I play with Div 1 team level rather than interantional probably because I'm mored used to the Div1 players names, skills etc.

Also noticed when playing 2x3 min games the players get knackered very quickly so 2x5 mins is really a must for me.
