Unfortunately I can barely remember what I had for breakfast so all I remember is I was yound and had to train to London - so all I know is it was 1989-1991 (at a total guess bassed on the fact it was the big footy game and sensi wasn't around)...that's the best I can do...I think I played around 5 or 6 games to get to the final - it was a knockout based thing, really busy to begin with but I guess as folk got knocked out they went home...was gutted to lose in that way!

I do vaguely remember another member mentioning this same event some time ago but my memory is as bad as yours! Still, great to hear of gatherings back in the day. And don't be put off getting stuck in again, there's a real range of levels here in the KOA, and the best way to improve your game is to play the game! :)

I don't think it was the same - don't recall any prize money - it was more about winning expenses paid trip to EU to play the best from their heats and eventually the worlds best.

Love to see those pics tho!

So I hit the same problem I seem to have with every game I play...I get to a standard and then can't progress!

I'm currently playing games where I generally am the better team and win more than I lose...but I still lose! I dopped down the CPU and the first game I played I won 5-1 - hurrah I thought - but then I lost 2-0! MY WORST RESULT YET!

I've probably clocked up around 20 odd games now but like I said seem stuck at my current level, I'm still 'gittery' with the controller - but then sometimes I put together a really good move and think maybe I can do it? I think a lot is down to the CPU formation - they were playing 5-3-2 when I lost - really hard to break-down tho I did get around 15 shots.

So what should I do? Resign myself to fond memories? Play in practice mode until a ceratin point? Play against the lowest level CPU until I win 20-0 or something?

Any advice breatly appreciated :)

It's just practice!
Definitely keep the cpu team on a set formation, maybe 424.

Dont forget practice mode is a great place to sort out your ball controls skills without getting grief from cpu players.

That's still progress in my book! :) And you weren't scoring 5 to begin with.

Though appreciate the CPU can be a tough nut to crack, and quite an unsatisfying opponent really. I can still lose to the f***** Find a human opponent if you can, online or off. Generally, though, don't put too much pressure on yourself, progress can be hard to see at times, keep it fresh and keep it fun, results will take care of themselves.
