Excited Kick Off Veteran
Not sure if this is the right place to post. I am currently on holiday in dorset UK, i have my laptop on with mobile broadband dongle. Had a few shandys and decided to take a trip down memory lane, googled 'kick off' as i have been watching the world cup and remembered that i used to play the game on the atari st. I stumbled upon this site, downloaded the software and started playing straight away. Unfortunately i only have my keyboard, and am getting routinely stuffed, but i had forgotten what a cracking game it is. I used to record games on my VHS video recorder and watch the best goals with my best mate. It bought a tear to my eye, many a winters night smacking balls against the crossbar and hearing the eternal 'enalty' when a player gets brought down in the area! Will post again when i am sober, cant wait to get home and try the game with a joystick!

Welcome to the fold dude. Now treat yourself with a proper joystick with an adapter, and get back into it.

VHS? Pathetic! I used to record games to betamax like a REAL man. Unfortunately they are long gone

Re: Excited Kick Off Veteran
On the subject of joysticks, can anyone recommend a good one and a site i can buy one from? I used to use one that you held in your left hand and used the right hand to control, with a couple of buttons on the side. I have a USB pad at home (still on holiday) its basically the same style as a PS2/PS3 controller, will i be able to use it with KO2, i also have a wired xbox 360 controller which you can use on a PC will that be any good?
Been having a browse on these forums and its great to see loads of people still play this great football game, i have text my mate about it (the one i used to tape games with) and he will be on board soon!

Re: Excited Kick Off Veteran
Konix speed king is what you are after I think.
The USB joysticks you mention will work for KO2 on the PC, but not with Amiga.
Ebay is always a great source for joysticks, I've bought loads!
A quick search brings this up, not the same model but similar.

Re: Excited Kick Off Veteran
Yup. Speedking sounds like your game. Get a joystick and an adapter off ebay, and you're off.
