Beta v0.03 Poll

Postby TheFoxSoft » Tue Apr 13, 2004 2:30 pm

Beta tester list counts 50 persons, but seems people are very busy in this period.
I think a poll requires less time to be compiled and i hope more persons will partecipate.
Please fill this poll.

Thanks

Speaking for myself, it is true that I'm very busy at this period. However, I don't think such a poll is a good idea, because right now, you only have the skeleton of the game ready. Since most people don't have the necessary hardware (joysticks, adaptors etc) to play this as a two player PC game (the same problem was quite apparent for KO2002/4 and was even bigger due to the technical problems playing a 2-player game using joysticks under WinXP), and since you haven't yet implemented a proper one-player mode (even a practice mode would be enough), it is quite difficult and premature for people to express opinions on the game.

You know that most of us like what we see so far, and especially some of your ideas and their implementation (like the heading and passing system), but it is quite early to give marks to the game. For me it can be anything from 4/10 to 9/10 right now - I just don't know.

All I want to tell you is to continue to do what you are doing, as long as you have the time and the energy, because we all here have the feeling that something great can come up.

yes you are right...this topic is useless|

however i will tell you my sensations:
i playing it everyday with Giacomo and 2 joysticks and the game is relly funny.
Now i reprogrammed the passing system, passing now are not so useless like in KO2. So the playing is more complex and various because you can perform short passing.
I'm working on players collisions and i'm a bit worried about it, i don't how to start :x
Maybe this is the most important part so i have to be careful.

And you are right even wuth the hardware part.I must program a easy ball control for gamepad and keyboard gamers.

it is not so funny to play 1 player as long as there is no ai for more than 10 minutes. but the game has the potential, gameplay would be really like kick off.

There is a perspective problem i think , players are the same as they look up or down, when they are looking down their face should be seen in my opinion and as ko2 is.

also this game shouldnt be only gameplay as ko2 was, nowadays nobody would pay attention to a game where you can play just friendlies or 8 teamed league..

There should be a career mode like sensible, or something different like footballer of the year series.
i learned playing kick off , before learning how to read and how to write.. birthdate : 19.07.1984

you are right, the main problem is my bad drawing.I''m working on it and maybe i could obtain decent result,we'll see.

It requires a huge amount of time and i prefer to release a game with no carreer but with a deep tactical mode, simple world cups/champions league, team database and online competitions.
I think in Throw In 2 i will program a Player Manager game! :D

do you think to establish the game with real names? if not it shouldnt be too much work to make a career mode.
it should be easy to make a footballer of the year kind of game, where you are only a player , not a manager . You transfer through clubs earning sign on fees, you train and there exist a trivia etc. by these you earn money. You buy chance cards. In every match you spend chance cards play the positions only.( depending how many cards you bought ) Depending on your performance you get selected for the national team or bought up by top clubs etc..

nice idea, i even think to program such a game

Ahem... well, saying that this "shouldn't be too much work" is an understatement now, don't you think?

it is much work, but not too much. And it would surely worth doing.

Thanks to you i worked hard on it and now i did it.The players had a restyling and now they change theire perspective depending of the direction of they are looking. You helped me to improve the game because without you i was to lazy to draw&animate players again! :D

I think there'll be KO & KOA names. But teams could be edited so you could easily distribute real teams via web.
About carreer it's not so easy as you think.I have to finish the game (however it's far from being finished) and then i think at the managerial stuff.
