- Throw In is made with a tool with a poor gfx engine but let you speedup the development
- KO2002 is made in c++ (i guess) that it's faster, gives you more freedom but it requires more technical skill and time
- FIFA is made in c++ (i guess) but it runs on a expensive and powerfull 3d engine

Please FoxSoft, last questions for me:

-What languages did you now before programming with Blitz?
-What language is Blitz similar to?
-Which is, for you, the starting point to develop a football game?

- i knew basic, pascal, c/c++, java, assembler 68000 but programming language is not a problem if you "know" the programming
- Blitz3D is Basic
- what do you mean with starting point?

Just a hint to start, I don't know where to start from... there are so many things in a football game... what would you do first? Player movement? Ball physics? ...

First get a ball on a field, get the fysics right, then a player to interact with the ball by playerinput. Then you can make the basic game rules and CPU players running around.

- do 1 player
- create basic controls
- create a ball
- create a physics
- create player-ball interaction

Just thought I'd let everyone know; I've decided (once I get up to scratch with my coding skills) I'm going to try to start a Rugby Project remaking the classic "Jonah Lomu Rugby". I'd reccomend buying a copy of it for the PS1 (obviously still playable on PS2/PS3) since it's still the single greatest rugby game around, even with the dated graphics.

I want to start a project to recreate the gameplay almost exactly, with improved graphics and new, up-to-date teams.

I think I'll probably try the Ogre engine, although I'm still considering crystal space. Open to any suggestions. I will update when (if) I get something done.

have a look at microsoft XNA , you can easily convert your code to xbox and there are lots of microsoft events where you can find yourself a publisher, nice for starting from scratch but complicated than blitz though
