All the colours will be reviewed by the way, also the haircuts of the dark players. :)

well.. I was hoping that you would redo the brown hair as well..

The black hair is the best looking in KO 2004 beta I think...

The red hair is red enough although It should be more orange I think just as Steve said in another topic..

I think when some of the colours are reviewed, we are talking about 4 skins, each skin 5 haircolours and bald.
The best thing about it is that blond for all the skins are different, same goes for red, brown, grey, even black and the baldies ofcourse.
In fact, that should be enough......?

I started with the hair GFX updates this morning, I will keep you informed what I am doing so you guys can give me a little feedback about things.
I will do the baldies as the last part because they will be the most difficult.....
So I tuned up the blond haircolour this morning, and it has become a bit more colourish now, I thought in the betas until now the blond looked a bit too greyish, specially on TFT screens.
Also updated the blond on the black players, and put a little more stucture in the hair part which hopefully will make it look less flat....
I think I have been working a bit to neat until now when it comes to the hairs of the black guys, and at the end you don't see anything of it n the screen anymore, so I worked a bit "rougher" now and hopefully this will do the trick. :)
Also the haircuts of the black players have been redone, because until now they looked a bit like a "cap"

It's good to know we have someone on the job with attention for detail :)
A lot of things you mentioned and showed me last week hadn't occurred to me until you pointed them out...

But I did notice the hair of the blond white players look almost like a bald player.

How do you know allready??

Have you recieved new screenies from Steve.

Any chance that the betatesters could watch it as well...?? :)

are the new baldies done by the way??

any screenies from that for the betatesters??

I have answered this question before but I dont remember the answer so I ask again.

any chance for long haired player sin KO 2004?

In fact it would be nice with many different kind of haircuts. The haircuts the players have in KO 2004 are kind of long short hair if you understand what I mean (which is the most common hairstyle for player stoday I believe).. :) It would be nice to see very short hair as well together with rather long and very long hair though. and that 'Valderama' haircut. That one would definitely stick out .. :) :) :lolo:

You obviously are able to change the haircuts. do you have any limitations? or is time the only limit?

btw

I tested KO 2002 yesterday. I had to quit playing emideatley after checking the pitch recistance which wa my goal. The pitches are just to awful..

best stuff with KO 2004
1) new pitches
2) passingsystem
3) sliding tackle system
4) dribbling stat
5) new left/right ballflow

:)

go for it Gerie. :)

Because of the way the players are drawn in 02 and 04, you are limited in changing haircuts.......
A complete face/hair/neck GFX in Kickoff is built up out of 6 textures, those 6 textures are put on the body/shirt of the player.
Now if you would want to have long hair, than that hair should fall ON the backside and/or shoulders of the shirt/player.
To be able to do this you wil need completely other animations, an other basic of building up textures that create one player, the hair has to become a sort of overlay on the shirt.
The only thing that is possible now, is taking the haircut til the end of the neck, and that's about it....
The difference between a player now, and a player with slightly longer hair(to what it would be possible now), would be 3 0r 4 pixels, that wouldn't make a difference when playing the game.
It is even real difficult to have a shorter haircut look realistic, because when I look at some of the black players new hair, it sometimes looks more like a cap than hair.

So...as far as I can think the GFX possabillities of the players are stretched already using this GFX-engine.
I always liked them! fair enough, what could have been better, are the things which whom I am struggling right now.

I have no new screenshots that I can show you.....
The only thin I DO know, is that I tweaked out quite a lot even before the first beta, so I think the changes that I make now are about right...
