I will do my best Magnificus, its coming along nicely but we are only at the beggining of the journey.

As for changes, the plan is to remake the original as close as possible with everything the same (minor changes only like menu highlights etc)

Then if I get that done we will talk about changes :) :)

Its coming along Spyros mate, be patient :lol:

Ok here is an update so you can laff at me when it all grinds to a halt.

* Random Player Database (Complete)
* Correct TeamNames / Divisions (Complete - differs from screenshot)
* Main Menu & Menu System (Complete)
* Squad Menu (Complete)
* Player Info (Complete)
* Player Valuation (Complete)
* League Tables (Complete)
* Cup Fixture Generator (Complete)

Working on the following next....

* The Coach
* Transfer List
* Fixture list Generator (Started)
* Team Selection
* CPU managers selection
* CPU manager decisions / transfers
* Match formula
* Result screens
* Historical Data

The following are 'currently' out of scope of my remake....

* Action game
* Tactics generator screen

Oh and I have fixed the 'too many older players' problem, it was simple but was very annoying about why it was doing this.

I am finding it very hard to keep to the original colours coz in some cases they are horrible, however authenticity is the word so I will bite my tongue and carry on creating horrible vomit colour menu systems with green buttons :( :( :(

hmm

Whoa this is pretty nice Durby :) I`m liking the look of those screenies :)

You say result only pm... will it act the same way.. like the players have all the same stats and the game is based on that ??
Still... ..

lovely :) :shock:

Yes Darren mate.....

The results will be formulated and I will mess with it until its pretty good, which I love doing.

As for the players, all the visible stats are there (although I think there are some that aren't shown like Flair?!?! which I haven't yet added)

The game 'should' be the same just without the ability to play the actualy matches yourself.

The only things missing will be play the match, watch the match on the scanner, create your own tactics.

Although the latter 2 'may' be in eventually, and possibly even the match itself who knows.

Like I have said, I have tried to create the screens as accurately as possible, I have created the menus dynamically so I can adjust anything pretty simply (ie they are not just images overlaid onto the screen)

There are some minor changes like on the player stats there is no blueygrey border around the text in the black boxes (but had I not told you there would be no way you would have known this :) )

All Menus, borders, text and colours are fully customisable I can change any with just a simple change in the data that builds the menu which I am pleased with. So if you think the green is too dark, I can change it in a second. If you think the width of an info box is too big I can shrink it easily, if the font is too big it can be shrunk etc.

In fact the only image in the game is the mouse cursor :) :) (Well at the moment anyway!)

Oh incidently my results code is based on my own ideas.

I have no way of getting the PM code and working out how it was done in PM, so I am designing my own results system. However all skills will be taken into account, although I guess my way will differ from the PM way slightly, but hopefully the results will be accurate.

Other things like how Managers work out who they want to buy, and board evaluation of players is my own code. I will tweak it to get it as accurate as possible, but it isn't going to be exactly the same as PM coz I have no way of knowing how Dino wrote the code to work out that stuff.

all the messages (even Fire burns down stadium etc) will of course be in the game.

You will notice some of the Menu Names are slightly different, but I may make them correct at a later date if I can be arsed. My code doesn't currently allow the text to go to two lines, won't take much to fix that, but at the moment I am concentrating on other stuff.

Incidently I am still working on this when I can.

I have now implemented the Player Info pages in the correct format etc. The random issues with player creation is now sorted and the players are created pretty well with a good spread of youngsters and not to many older players as per the original.

The wages and values are calculated pretty accurately, although I am still trying to decide whether its worth doing this weekly or yearly as stats are only updated (to my knowledge) once a year.
