Yes, that's what I had in mind!
In fact, this whole idea came to me when i was hacking (translating, really) Tehkan World Cup. But it can be done with any game that runs in an emulator (that supports savestates). Another advantage is that if we manage to do that, it will be easier to do something similar with another Amiga game.

Currently I have 999 open projects but they are not too many to start this one as well! But first we have to decide what we want. Is that a "Kick off 2 player manager"? I'm in favour of this.

I'll try to do some hacking and find all these today. The thing is that I will have to hack UAE savestates and I hope they are not compressed (I don't think they are). If they are, we'll have to make a decompression program (we have the UAE source, so ok).

i have no knowledge abd cababilities to do this work...at least if no one will explain how to do the job.
it seems the big problem is transferring specific data between savestates.
anyone has an idea?

I will try to find out how everything we need to transfer is stored in both the Player manager and Kick off 2 savestates and then we will know.

Kick off 2 Player Manager,
Player Manager Kick Off 2
Kick Player Off Manager 2
Off Manager Player Kick

call it whatever you want but that's what we're waiting for in the last 13 years!!!

Not wishing to put a downer on this, as a lover of both games, but the key problem is how to make the AI good enough to be a challenge. Where's the fun if you win every game 13-0? The difficulty in PM came from the 2x3 games and the fact there was no aftertouch and the players couldn't kick straight. Meanwhile the AI had excellent ball control and the ability to shoot 360. It was precisely this unfairness that made it a challenge, if a bit shit from a gaming point of view.

The players still wouldn't be able to kick straight since they would still have the pm stats.

Are you saying that in Player Manager the AI is better than in KO2??

In fact what are the differences besides pbd and aftertouch??

we should put light wind or also Final Whistle in a 3x2 game to get again a real challenge
this will make unuseful all the routine goals that let the games against CPU so easy :D just my 2cents.

I just saw that UAE has 3 formats: Compressed savestate, uncompressed savestate and Ram dump. So at least the second one is easier to use. Maybe memory dump will help us as well...

As far as difficulty goes.. you can give computer players as much as 270 points with a Hex Editor (though in Player Manager and Kick Off 2, the maximum a player can have is 200 points). Vasilis did that with the Steroids team and playing against it should be interesting at least for poor to average players. I doubt even an excellent player could beat this team with players averaging 100 points. Hell, I'm still playing Player Manager after all those years and I average more than 10-0 in 2x3 matches! I don't care if it's easy, just give it to me! :)

something like that would be Steve Camber. He is an elite hacked who recently managed
to locate the PDB code and turn in on and off in every version of the game.

Adding aftertouch to Player Manager is certainly possible. I'm not sure how hard it would
be to do it though.

What is PDB?? Do u really belive that aftertouch can be made in PM.... i really hope
