With a few comments, a pm and some persuading :) UB has released a new version of this fabulous tool !!!

http://www.ultimatebinary.com/
http://ultimatebinary.com/Downloads/PMSaveDiskTool_v1.4.zip

Not only does it allow editing of the players age, you can make any player a Player Manager and also...........

1 increase the strength of the player, right up to 200 max on every stat !!
1.1a: Fixed xp crash
1.1a: Alkis - when the stats are increased it doesn`t increase The Homeless ( Transfer listed players )
1.2: A full name edit mode has been added to the tool.
In order for this to be possible, both the game ADF and the data ADF must be patched. It is strongly advisable to backup both files involved as patched files are not backwardly compatible with the originals.
Non ASCII characters are supported in the tool, but are not yet available in the game.
1.3: The majority of player stats can be modified although there are now many ways to break the game and crashes will be likely when varying some stats. So it is even more important to make regular backups of your save adf.
1.3b: Ability to save out to excel!

Enjoy, and report any problems here.
The UB Team.
GREAT News!!

Player Manager now has a new lease of life!!!!!

Thanks UB :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Couple of things i`ve noticed..

When you increase the players - it increases all the players in all the teams, including your own team ( which kinda defeats the purpose of making the other teams harder ) All it needs is a little tweak to fix that.. and it`ll be top notch.

Another great tool pulled out of the bag, name editing has to be only around the corner now!!!

Thanks UB.

Name editing won`t be around the corner I`m afraid. Names are not stored in the save disk.

The surnames could always be changed, not the initials..

I could live with that, surnames is the one. You're bound to get lucky then at some stage in PM and find someone with the real first name then aswell. Like if we had Ronaldo in the database or Messi it'd be only a matter of time before they turned up no? :?

It`s fairly easy to do the surnames..
Yeah.. true it`d be a matter of time before a L.Messi etc would arrive :) then you could buy him and hex edit his stats to reflect his real stats.

The implementation seems kind of weird... if you click on a player and then on the "Become Manager" button, the player is automatically renamed to 'Alkis Polyrakis' (or whatever the manager's name was) and the old Alkis gets a random name. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but that doesn't seem like such a big improvement over simply lowering your PM's age. I was hoping for an option to appoint someone else to be the PM without changing anything else; I want Alkis to hang his boots.

Of course I can see how this option is valuable to Stainy who is continuing his 1990 game and wanted to see himself back!

And yes, as Stainy said the option to increase everyone's skills to 200 will be great when it is tweaked so that your team's players are not affected.

Thanks again to the author, this is awesome work.

I was wrong! your team isn`t affected when you up the other teams :)

I made a player a PM manually ( hex edit ) because when I click on ( become PM ) the prog crashes!

It seems to know your original PM name ( hence it made my player Darren Gurney )
Is the old Alkis a regular player again ? maybe it doesn`t work right for you because you play as the whole team ??

OK I just tested it a little more thoroughly. I had not tried loading the ADF before.

It is true that your own team's stats are unaffected when you increase the game's Difficulty stat.

I appointed someone else as Player Manager and the program did not crash. The game then behaved as expected; I could only play as team if my new PM was starting, otherwise I had no control. The old Alkis (who was renamed automatically) was a regular player again.

However... increasing the Difficulty messes up the game in a way we hadn't thought of. :( The Transfer list! After the first match you play, every player in the Transfer list who already belongs to a team is suddenly worth a fortune. I suppose you can ignore them and only look for 18 year olds in the beginning of each season, but still, it's a bummer...

Hmmm hadmn`t thought of the transfer list ( The Homeless ) in the prog..
define a fortune?

Yeah it doesn`t crash on Win7, it crashes on two XP machines though.

While you're messing around with things lads, could any of you try and see if your real name i.e "alkis" pops up in Kickoff 2 as a normal name or is it still "player manager" once you appoint someone else as player manager in the squad?

This could be a sneaky alternative way of getting our human players into our kickoff 2 sessions.

Several players were going for more than 1500K, one in particular was worth 2190K.

Holy crap!! So... what do you suggest? have the option of increasing the players but not the ones on the transfer list? ( The Homeless ) section ?
