A nice report that. Even have a link to here

Nice one Danny for these links. It's good to have some +ve media feedback for a change. Bodes well for UPM if we market it right.

This is all good stuff but sadly kick off 2002 or UPM is never going to penetrate the mainstream market as we would all like.
Its pretty much stuff in a niche market type situation, saying that if the community can sustain itself and enough copys can be sold to maintain future development, then i suppose itll have to do.
Reality hurts.

As I said in previous posts, it depends on where the game is addressed to...

as I'm a MAC user I'm very happy to have a kick off game in my personal G4.
But we've to remembver that KO02 is THE ONLY soccer game for MAC and this is why we have it on the apple store.
And as for 4% share of macs is bullocks, just because in the USA are about 8% of mac and in Europe around 2-3% (most of them only professional, not home users).
Also as you know the americans doesn't care about soccer and even then for the soccer games, so this release will not help a lot our comunity.
But is still important presence, until there'll not a kind of Fifa soccer running on MAC.
Anyway here the italian mac review:

http://www.macitynet.it/ilmiomac/aA11284/index.shtml

Translation:

To the epoch defined as "the shoot-em-up of the soccer games" for the scary rapidity in to complete decisive actions against the adversary, it was supplanted then during the years to the affirm of the 3D games in, that offered a greater realism.

For the nostalgic ones that they remember the tournaments to the last joystick around about ten years ago, to jump from the chair and to purchase will be an only gesture to do. Instead for all those that have lost a piece of history of the video games, we suggest to aim their browser to the pages web that Freeverse devoted to the game.

They marvel some the applications hardware, of a Mac to 333 MHzes and 96 MB of RAM, thinking to as the game it was very fast on an Amiga with Motorola 68000, but we don't despair of an optimization in the future releaseses.
