I can confirm it guys. This guy is a fucking lunatic. He is a jerk. I email him. I thought that my email was very good and not offensive the way he was to us. I was very careful not to use bad language. Here my email so that you can confirm what I am saying?:

"Dear Sir,

I am writing to you with regard to the KO2002 review. I think that you should reconsider writing the review from the very beginning. I noticed a lot of sarcasm in this review and I think that it is offensive towards an important and brave community. I will list some points that clarify why this review is badly written:

1. Graphics. A great game does not need great graphics. This is a fact. History taught us all. Even if the game was 2D, 16 colours only it would not matter. It's the gameplay and how much fun it gives to the person who play it.

2. Music and Sound. The same applies here too. Bear in mind that you can also change some of the sound effects. Personally, I never tried to count the sound effects and this is simply because I was attracted so much to the gameplay that the effects were sounding great to me.

3. In the gameplay section you have made a lot of mistakes. For a start you say "If you have ever played any other soccer (or even hockey) game you know that running with the ball is not usually a problem". I have played and I still play the best footy game of all time Kick Off 2. The control is exactly the same. I have played the second best footy game of all time Sensible Soccer and the control is similar. In real life, in real football, the players never run with the ball stick to the legs. If that's what happens I am from planet Mars and Zidane is my best friend!
Second, you do not mention what joystick you used. A Sidewinder? A joypad? The keyboard? Certainly the control is not easy but you can master it if you pay more attention to the game. Also there is a very good offer for a brilliant Joystick that makes playing this game a real joy. This is a REAL GAME for REAL PLAYERS. There are thousands of us who bought the game, some never played Kick Off 2 before and really enjoy the game. They put some effort and they become better and better day by day. You see when you review a game you should consider the factor call "Value in Time". I played FIFA for a week and I found it really boring. Even if someone plays FIFA for a year, I can play with him a two-player game and I can win. A game that is based on scoring goals by lack at a VERY SLOW GAME SPEED is not a game for me. It is a commercial joke.
4. Multiplayer. What do you mean by saying "The only thing the developers did right was to exclude a multiplayer option" ? There is a brilliant two-player mode and there are many KO2002 tournaments taking place in many countries around the world. I don't think that this happens with any other footy game. There is one exception: Kick Off 2!
5. All the above plus this: It is not mentioned at all that the price of this game is only 9.99 GBP....
As you can see the review from your readers give it a 9.9. This is significantly different from your 4. If you visit the site that is mentioned in the manual (http://www.ko-gathering.com) you will notice a really nice community with very mature people. This community contributed to the creation of this game. This game was made by game-players for game-players and this is simply something you ignored in your review and something unusual for a computer game. Bear in mind that there is a Kick Off 2 world cup organised every year (2002 in Athens) and there's one planned for KO2002. As I said before this is unique for a computer game. People travel from all over the world to play a game! We do not need time machines to travel in time just an airplane and a few Amigas (yes Amigas) and PCs. All of us have been playing games for more than twenty years and we are proud to have KO2 and KO2002 among our games collection. Only the brave...

Regards

Nikos Andreou"

And this is his anwser to me"

"Thanks for the kind words. You'll be the second person I add to my ever
growing fan club."

Yeah right. Unfortunately, sometimes, I am a good boy. I don't use bad languange and I don't kick asses. I'll leave it there just to prove how mature is this community. No need to post shit in a site, no need to type crap in a email. This guy proved to me that he didn't review a game, he just spotlights his misery life though the internet... ANTE ÃÅÉÁ!!!! (sorry only for Greeks)

I know these negative reviews bother me and you but we cant do much about it now. We should concentrate on UPM. The email was well written but some-people donkt take their jobs serious. I like all kind of soccergames. (different styles) And writing so negative and then telling I dont score a goal. (than he played not that long:P) is just a humilation for himself.

Some people only understand one language. If diplomacy doesn't work, get the weapons out. I've always prefered the verbal rapier to the bludgeon but let's as many of us who can be arsed send him some choice words.

I wrote to these clowns telling them to play the game before they review it.

They replied and if I can find it, I'll post it here.

Here's my email.

*********************************************

Just finished reading your review on Kick-off 2002 and was wondering if you actually played the game or didn't bother because it was too hard?

I read your review and very nearly didn't buy the game, I decided to check out the demo instead. The demo showed me that the game was very true in gameplay to the original that came out for the 16 bit market over 10 years ago. This may sound a bit outdated but when you consider that Kick-off 2 has never been bettered, its a very positive statement indeed.

If you don't have the talent or skills to play a difficult game just say so in your review, yes its difficult, yes the ball doesn't stick to the foot and yes its a whole lot of fun.

I will say to you, play the game before you review it not just for 5 minutes but at least give it a chance.

The worst part about your review is that you reccommend a very dismal football game to play instead, flashy graphics does not a football game make.
It would have been believable if you had recommend ISS but to recommend the game that you did just show the calibre of web site that you are.

I will not be returning to this site in a hurry.

That could be me, I wrote ages ago and got a response but I can't find it at the moment. I'll dig it out when I get home from work.
