Anyone else seen this review for
KO2002. Quoted at £19.99 and then given 5 out of 10 for value.
Slighty unfair don't you think

I admit I haven't yet seen the prices of KO2002 on local Portuguese shops, but knowing this country as well as I do, I'll bet it's being sold for at least 25 EUR per copy.

5/10 is to low but I actually understand the people behind those reviews.

I mean. without a joystick the gameplay aint special and the KO 2002 version before the patches is full of bugs and strange things.

I think that the game would get much better reviews if they had joysticks and that the patch 1.33 was reviewed.

I don't think that the KO2002 release was full of bugs, generally i don't think that most punters would actually find them as onlt a low percentage of users fully explore a game and the bugs present in the 1.2 original release were all fairly obscure and didn't really impact upon the game too much. If they did they were pretty rare.

Text of review below. By the way, the screen shots used were of the beta version which leads me to believe maybe they've taken them from this site??? If so, they could do with updating to the latest version. I've not checked them out recently (why would I need to) so I may be wrong here and sorry if I am. Anyway here's the review

Kick Off 02

Simon checks out the return of an old favourite, but finds himself dreaming of past glories instead…

Billed as a return to the roots of the Amiga and ST classic, Kick Off 02 if nothing else proves that lightning rarely strikes twice. For whilst the overhead style, the loose ball control and even the player names have come to the PC, the compulsive playability has sadly been left behind as other football games have come in and taken the mantle away from Kick Off. franchise.

That’s not to say that Kick Off 02 is without its charms though – it’s still good fun to play in short doses, and in many ways the developers have remained suitably faithful to the original. It’s still reasonably playable, and the graphics are still quite paltry. But anyone who has had the pleasure of playing the wonderful Pro Evolution Soccer on Playstation 2 will know that this Kick Off is simply a long way behind the modern day field. And whilst the nostalgiacs will no doubt enjoy being reacquainted with an old friend, for many, it’s the football game equivalent of Paul Gascoigne now. Still capable of occasional flourishes, but nowhere near as brilliant as he was.

The Verdict
Quality 5/10
Value 5/10
Overall Score
5/10

Recommended Price:
£19.99

Screenshots of both the betas and the final version are included in the KO2002/Screenshots section, if they were stupid and chose the beta ones instead it's not our fault.

See my previous answer to Paul.
Although I do believe we should include some different angles pix as well, I'll see to it.
