I'm writing a detailed article about the tournament for my homepage. I'll need your opinion because I haven't played against everyone. My questions are: Who deserved a better place? Who did better than you expected him to?
Remember, remember, the 4th and the 3rd of November

I would suggest we keep comments positive, otherwise we end up with "you had an easy draw" or "you didn't deserve it" type slanging matches.

I agree that Kees was a very difficult opponent. God knows how I beat him - I only had two shots. He had plenty but didn't take them. I can only explain that it was the first match of the tourney; I'd warmed up and he hadn't. Let that be a lesson!

Riembie was a pleasant surprise! I expected more things from Filippo and Marco. Actually I expected more things from me also!

I thought Franco could play better.Maybe the winning of the european championship caused a false start with his 4-4-2.Then he played excellent matches with 5-3-2 (see the one with Alkis, the score 2-0) but was too late.I think he is the man to beat in Athens 2002.
Filippo played excellent matches (see the one with Mark Poelstra) with an unbeatable defence! I think he failed just one match:the one with Niels "shirt of shame" Tijssen. In that match Niels played a great game! And I know next time i will hammered by him!
I think also Danny Dineen can improve a loooot! He always played in 50% speed mode but he made the same impressive results with full speed.
I also loved:Nazim and James L.playing,JamesBeard defence, impressive Robert Swift ball control and Jacob determination.

My favourite matches were with Alkis - tight defence and total focus, Gianluca - Mr Style!! and Mark P whose intuitive picking up of the ball after a goal kick was nothing short of intimidating. The great thing was that pretty much everyone had something about the way they played that made them unique - what game is KO2!!

the only one who trashed me during the tournament was Nazim(I lost 3-8) though I think he needs to sharpen up his defence then he'd be a strong candidate for the title.

It surprised me a bit that we'd find such a incontestable winner of the tournament. Alkis didn't lose a single game. great performance.
Played 8 World Cups

Big suprise for me was Foxy and the Poelstra's, i was pretty sure Alkis was good. Bad suprise was Filippo and Franco who i made favourites. My own performance was not suprising to me. Also suprised with Kynes performance on day 1 but he reverted to form on day 2.

Well, I will never forget Nazim of course.. I didn't know he was actually that good when I first played him....

And TheFox and Alkis were abolutely amazing of course, but I knew they were good. I didn't know that about Nazim..

And Kees deserved better... Bad luck for him he ended in a group with Alkis and Riempie..

Yes Kees is a good player, he should be announced.
I had a draw with Steve Camber #6 (3-3)and a draw with James Lockerbie #13 (2-2).(I am at #20)
