I got messages tonight by a couple of my friends who congratulated me on my victory. I was surprised because I couldn't understand how they had found out about it. So they told me they read about it at the electronic version of the PC Master magazine I told you about!!I went there immediately, unfortunately it's in Greek:

http://www.pcmaster.gr/columns/default. ... &Column=10

Here's a quick translation:

---------------
THE WORLD CUP CHAMPION OF KICK OFF IS GREEK

In April 2001, we wrote about the Greek participation in the making of the new Kick Off game. Here are the big news that confirm what we wrote then, that Greek gamers sweep everything: The Kick Off World Cup winner is Greek, Alkis Polyrakis!
A few days ago, we received an e-mail:

[Snipped my e-mail about KOA, the tournament etc., you've heard it before]

So Alkis came by the magazine, we talked and we wished him good luck in Dartford. So today we got another e-mail from our friend:

"Dear Mr Kratsas, I gladly inform you that I came back from Dartford with the trophy in my bag! I'm now a world champion, which means that next year the tournament will be held in Greece. I have plenty of pictures to give to you, how would you like them? (film, printed or electronic form).I also brought a version of Kick Off 02 for you to preview (the cover disk version is not ready yet)."

So a Greek gamer succeeds in not only participating in a game's official World Cup, he also wins the trophy! We have to say a big bravo to Alkis, we'll wait for his pictures so we can do a long report on the event. And,of course, we will notify you of all the Kick Off 02 news, which, who knows, may be the first game to break the FIFA's monopoly in the PCs after many years.

Thanks Mark, but like I said to James March will be my basic training month in the Air Force, during which I won't be allowed to leave the base.

Alkis, are you sure you have the joystick skills for a complex task like flying a plane? I've heard there is more than one fire button!

Haha..well I won't be flying any planes, so the skies are safe. I'll probably be sitting behind a desk, writing posts to our forum! Unlike Vasilis, who was a parachuter during his service. Ask him how his first jump went.

That was the most frustrating moment of my life... jumping off a plane with a parasuit. I mean, I had been trainned for it for almost 2 months, but there's nothing like the real thing.
Here I am in the airplane, waitting for my turn to jump off. The noise that the C130 makes is terrible. I'm right before the door. "When the green light is on, you jump" says the instructor. "Damn" I mumble. "I can't do it!" I say to him. "ok" he takes me by surprise! "Just make a step backwards". A releaf. And suddently I feel his foot on my butt pushing me. I am off the plane...the parasuit unfolds wide. I'm actually flying, terrified, but flying. My whole life passes before my eyes like a movie. I'm dying here man! Only some minutes later, I my feet touch the ground. Then I started cursing the instructor. Every time I jumped off again after that incident, was not more difficult than that. It was still frightening though.

He would be like...heh heh I am the instructor and I can kick you out of the...oh pooo, he didn't have his shute on!
