Hey Vas, thanks for the comments.

I treat KO2 like it is a real football match, not a computer game! And if you've seen me at a Nottingham Forest match it's not a pretty sight.

When competing I think only of victory and keep positive thoughts at all times. This is something of a weakness too - I had no draws in the tournament but three defeats by a single goal. If I'd gone 5-3-2 and held onto a draw in those I would have made the Q Finals.

I'm facing up to the fact that there are lots of great players out there. I've analysed what I did wrong this (mainly playing the wrong style, based on my PM tactics) and will eliminate this through practice in time for next year - hopefully in time for Easter.

Good luck with the team disk and look out for Chelsea and A.Chapman!

Mr.Dig, Riemer & Foxsoft have absolutely the best style of KO2. <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Mr. Kees should go a round further, he is much better as he played. (like Me too) <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif">

Alkis makes simple goals, but effektive ones. And in the Final you could also see that he could do everything with the ball. Could we (Mr.Dig, Riemer & Foxsoft) ever beat him?

Foxsoft, Mr dig and alkis was the most powerful opponent I ever met (yes, in this order).
Foxsoft is the finest italian-catenaccio player I ever met, He's what I would to be, great defence and fast attack, like The 1982 Italy, superb, the Paolo Rossi of the tournament, my favourite!
I had Mr Dig in my tournament and he was perfect, no chance for the opponents, good defence and the greatest attack I ever see in my life. He had Fantasy, he was fast, he plays the best soccer, he was the cruiff of the tournament, he was the Nederland in the 1978 world cup and Alkis the '78 Argentina!
Alkis is the greatest player because he was the best opportunist, he didn't have a beautiful game (He can't made beautiful goals) but finally he's THE CHAMPION, his game is perfect for this kind of tournament, no need for more comments.
I think they was the best 3 players in the tournament, the final results could be change (maybe foxsoft was the best in this weekend IMHO) but this 3 players was a lot better than others.

Your right Filippo, these 3 players are from an other planet. Almost the rest has the same skill level.

Nice to hear all these positive comment guys! And you are probably right Vasilis.. I should improve on my tactical skills a bit... I played every match with 4-2-4 and I never changed my tactic during the tournament... Next time against Alkis I will probably play 5-3-2 also.. But I have to practice on this tactic first.. And the Fox Soft beat me in the second leg.. Also against him I maybe should have changed my tactic..

And too bad about my friend Kees, he's almost just as good as Riempie and me.. It was a shaaammmme that he had to compete against Riempie for the quarter finals..

Alkis played not very beautiful, but he played the most effective and he deserved to win..

Next year we will see then if we beat Alkis..

I vote for myself.

For a person who plays at 50% and has never played at 100% before, 3 victories and 1 draw is pretty good going.

Long live me <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

I agree that Mark was the most spectacular player.
I can't help but feel a little bit hurt by all the comments I read. The forum is full of "congratulations Alkis, but.." and "Alkis won, although..". Some of them are really harsh, like "He can't make beautiful goals"! Has it occured to you that a better phrase would be "He WON'T make beatiful goals"? Kick Off 2 is just like real football. A simple game. You need to keep searching for the easiest way to score. If the opponent's defense is too good, and you can't find an opening, by all means you should try difficult (hence spectacular) shots. But I'm usually good at finding an opening. I wasn't aware it was a crime.
My opening game was against Martin Beard, one of the best defenders in the tournament if you ask me. I never managed to find an easy way into his box. I eventually won 3-0. Ask him if my goals were spectacular.
I can only defend myself by saying this: First beat me, then tell me I'm not the best player. With something like 28 victories and 2 draws in Dartford, I don't think anyone can imply that I am not.

OOOH ALKIS! You didn't read the topic of this thread!
The topic was "Most impressive players" Not the "Best Players".
I write that you was absolutly not the most impressive!
I think you agree with me that the other 2 players was more spectacular then you!
Yeah, ONLY more spectacular!!

Well yeah, that is the title of the thread, but some have used words such as "powerful" and "simple".And I was referring to other threads as well.
