Before 'The Gathering 2', I think the following countries have enough players to have national tournaments: UK, Netherlands, Italy, Greece.

We don't have an Alkis, Fox or Mr Dig in the UK - the title would be up for grabs.

What do people think? How about a UK Masters tourney at Easter? This could be like snooker

Robert,

I am definately interested in a tournament for the UK players.

I have a place where it can be held over a weekend which is ideal. "The company I work for hire it out for IT training courses".

The place is situated in Ledbury, Herefordshire which has good access from the motorway. (plenty of room and space for cars). Hotel accomodation not to far away as well.

Anyone interested ?

OK Chaps this looks like a definite proposal. Jim, the Herefordshire location is good for me.

Think that out of the UK-registered KOA players, we could definitely muster over ten. Maybe those who missed out like Becktie and Simon Butt (even Rikki Fullarton!) could make it.

I'm looking forward to turf wars against the likes of Camber, Nazim and the Beards. We had precious few UK vs UK games at The Gathering - let's see who's King of this island!

I think the winner should maybe get a special crown?

Robert, The least the winner of the UK event will get IS the title.

"OFFICIAL NUMBER 1 UK CONTENDOR FOR GATHERING 2"

Just realised that if its an Easter event that is just 6 months away.

Best start getting a list together of definate competitors so we can get some numbers.

What do you think the minimum we need is for a weekender ? 12 players could be two groups of 6 ..... ideas please....

Official 'Game of Shame' contender KO2 UK Gathering 2002.

I figure if we can get 16 that'll do it. Could be tricky keeping to numbers down to that rather than finding it tricky to get enough.

Look at this weekend ;

Me
JamesB
MartinB
SteveC
Nazim
SteveS
Anthony
Carl
Robert
JamesL
AndyM

So there's 11 already !!!

Dont forget me, I am now the KO Official excuse creator, however I have run out of excuses and am more than up for a Regional tourney so I can take my title to the World Event!

I've just realised that 'Camber and the Beards' sounds like a cheesy pop group from the 1960's.

We lack a Dig or Alkis in this country - we need to find or make one.

My suggestion is that we get 16, then do two groups of eight again, top four from each into a second group phase. Then the top 2 into semi fianls. About 1/2 the size of 'The Gathering'.

We'd need two Amigas to run this over a weekend, or with 4 we could do it in 1 day. However I think the 'all weekend' format was a winner.

Comments? Declarations of interest?

Robert I like the idea of two groups of eight again.

The whole format of The Gathering worked really well so if we stick to the same fixtures we are on to a winner.

Perhaps to last out over two days we could have a seperate Cup match which is a straight knockout where we just pull names out of the hat.
