Well as we all know you can't please all the people all the time, so to come to a happy medium that everybody accepts (even grudgingly) seems to be a major event! Congrats people...now lets bring this mutha on!

I couldn't have said it better myself. For example, both Vasilis and I were used in 2x3 mins games instead of 2x5, and a maximum size scanner instead of the default one.
Your apology is accepted, now please accept mine too cause I lost my temper. It's all behind us now and I look forward to shaking your hand in Saturday.
To Jim:
Actually, Jim, Vasilis is right. Allow me to explain his WLWWWWDWWWLL sequence to you:
-W stands for WHINE, which is what he always does when I score (sometimes thought it's WOW)
-L stands for LOSER, which is how he feels in the end of the game
-D stands for DELIGHT, everytime he happens to score his long distance shots.

Today's results: (we wrote them down this time, just in case)
7 victories for me, 1 draw, in 12 games.

Well it was more than 4 victories for me and 1 draw in 12 games, in my point of view.
Anyway I won't be bothered to post any other single comment about that. I'm a superior KO player. It's just Alkis that hasn't admitt that yet. I bet he'll change his mind after the tourney.

Alkis,

That point you made about using the maximum size scanner is what me, my brother and Steve Camber have been playing with for the last 10 years.

Its a nightmare looking at the tiny standard sized one that we are using in the tournament.

Still having 6 months of training with it I have just about got accustomed to it.

That's a big problem for me too. You see, my style is using many longballs, so I was always searching for players on the scanner. The result is that I make many passes in the open space without having any player there to receive it! I can't seem to get used to it, but I won't change my style due to it.

I like the scanner on the slighly bigger than default setting.

Most of the time I 'know' where the players are going to be (for long passes etc.) This is especially the case with my own tactics.

However the scanner is pretty useful when counter attacking from corners etc, or when the opponent has run someone out of position. Then you can pick out that 'killer pass'.

If no-one minds, I'll enlarge the scanner by one notch. The only people who have it on the smallest setting are those that don't use it at all.

I would guess this is something we can agree on a game by game basis - as it doesn't slow the tournament down or require a reboot of the Amiga

I disagree Robert I think plenty of people will use the scanner on small size. I don't think its that bad, I think your size might be best I will have to give it a go.
I do not think I would like the biggest one now.

Martin with your eyesight the scanner is just a blur anyway, no matter what size the scanner is.

Did you get some glasses for the event ?
