Steve, I read the rules you posted at the new forum for the first time, and I noticed that you didn't include the additions we discussed about.
I'd edit the post myself, but since you are the original poster I'll leave it to you. Here are the additions:

Groups stages:
---------------
In case two or more teams finish with the same points, they should be sorted according to:

-Result of match between them
-Goal difference
-Goals scored
-Playoff match+extra time+penalty
-If it's still not sorted out, we shoot the players so that the rest can go on with the competition.

Knockout stages:
----------------
In case both teams score the same number of goals in the two matches, they will play Extra Time & Penalties.
This can be done by:
-Selecting "Extra time" and "Penalties" in the options screen
-Starting a new match
-Pressing Escape twice until Extra Time begins.

Misc:
-----
-The player who wins the toss at the beginning of the match decides where he sits.
-Players can substitute their players and choose any of the default tactics anytime during the match.
-If Amiga crashes during the first half, the players have to start a new game.
-If Amiga crashes during the second half, the players will only replay the second half, keeping the first half score of the abandoned game.
-Players can choose the team kits if the both agree, otherwise they'll use the default ones.

Any suggestions about the ref ? I prefer F.Willis but not everyone does.

Sure, you can have default team colours. Use use kit style 1 out of the 6 available.

Oh and change the red team to black for colour blind people.

Default kit colours are terrible, especially for colour blind people and dodgy televisions.

Surely everyone would be happy with a crystal clear radar display of black vs yellow for instance....

Look no matter what colours are used you have to ask yourself one question: do I feel lucky? Well do you punk?
