Mark !!

My brother is absolutely hopeless.

He has broke 3 joysticks within 2 weeks.

He had an original Quickshot which he managed to snap the shaft in half.

Then he broke 2x Quickshot 2 deluxe joysticks in 1 night... pressing too hard on the fire button on 1 and pulling down to hard on the other..

I think he is trying to hard to beat me !! ROTFL !! <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif"> <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif"> <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif"> <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">

If your joystick doesn't break occasionally, then you're not trying hard enough. You should see the thrashing MJB gives a joystick during a KO2 game !

The best place to get microswitch springs from is old dead joysticks. I've got quite a collection now, in my "joystick graveyard". I'll be bringing the whole joystick repair outfit with me to cover any emergencies.

Jim,

That wasn't an original QS2 I broke the handle of - it was one of those crappy Cobra sticks or something similar:they were always pants. Notice how you have done better against me now I am going easier on the sticks?

Alkis..

You dont need a TV modulator.

I purchased a cable from http://www.amigastuff.co.uk which allows you to connect the amiga to a television via a scart socket which gives a crystal clear picture.

Steve C

As you are now the official joystick repairer for the tournament do you think you could fix my Atari 1024 colour monitor which works brilliantly with an Amiga.

Its just packed up after 10 years service <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif">

I'll bring my joystick to Dartford; it's 12 years old, an antique! It's the toughest, almost unbreakable, joystick I ever had!

JB,

Don't reckon I can fix your monitor, unless it's just a blown fuse.

Joysticks are more within my capabilities - not too complicated !

OK Steve,

It has power still but no picture so it is not the fuse...

Its off to the computer equipment graveyard for it then.

All those games we had on that thing <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif"> its quite sad to say goodbye to it <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif">

I guess it was just too much for it to be connected to an Amiga. It just couldn't face the future and prefered to end it all instead. A sad end for a great monitor.. sniff..

This is Nazim Choudhury - just to say I'll be bringing an Amiga and TV modulator to the Gathering if needed.

Robert Swift here (forgot my password)

Looks like I don't need to bring my A1200. But I will bring James Lockerbie's MONITOR for the Amiga that makes for a wonderfully crisp, pixel perfect view.

Steve S, please can you summarise everyhting that everyone's pledged, just so we know we are safe? More than 4 Amigas would be good in case we fall behind. Last time I staged a 5 player tournament it took twice as long as I planned - we don't want to end up playing 2x3 to get through the fixture backlog.

If possible, I hope there will be 16 amiga's (or st's), so we could play Kick Off every minute of the day...
Come to think of it, shit, we (all tournament players) should have bought these 10 A500's and 5 A2000's someone offered on e-bay for appoximately 200 dollars a month ago.
