This is not an early statement as you may have preassumed by the title of this thread. I need to know this one: will the next year's tourney occur in the winner's country? I think this will give a little boost among the competitors. Also it's a fair suggestion, at least for the next tourney.

I see no reason why not, i'd like to see a few more competitors from the Maldives in that case though!

I don't think that would be fair, since most competitors are British!

If the winner is a non Brit then maybe we should go with it and if he is a Brit we could go with the best placed non Brit. I don't think we will get a Brit winner though. I'm sure if it is held in Greece next year then there will be more greeks there than Brits.

Actually I posted here to see your opinion on this. You see, the trip to England is going to cost me about 210 pounds total! That's half of my monthly earnings!

Why don't we just go to a neutral venue, like France.

Book a hotel conference room somewhere and all meet up.

Personally I think France and Switzerland would be ok.

I don't care, as long as there are Women and Beer I will be there....

Everybody should come to Holland next year, in Groningen. You can go out here 24hrs a day (as far as I know there isn't any other city in Holland where you can do that). Groningen is also a 'student-city'. That's how we call it. So, these students go out every day of the week and I must say there are a lot of (also young) beautifull women over here. Holland is also much cheaper than England btw...

A friend of mine managed to go into bars for 34 hours without sleep <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Everybody wants the 2002 tourney at his counrty, it's logical. The only way to solve this out is in the KO2 football ground! So, practise while you can, November is near!

Obviously we couldn't have the tournament in England again, so Holland does sound like a good choice. It does seem a shame that the tournament is limited to 32 players - I would have loved to have made it this year. If a version is available over the net for next year we could use that as the qualifying rounds to get rid of all the 'pretenders' so you are getting the best players that there are.

Somehow, there must be a limit to the number of players. I think 32 is a lot already. I know someone too who is quite dissapointed he can't join anymore. But hey, don't worry... there will be more tournaments, maybe some small ones and one big tournament. I could organize a small tournament for the dutch players some day...

If everything goes well, next year's tournament will be held in a luxury hotel, hosted by UEFA, with guest like Platini, Pele, Maradona and Croif! There are going to be 200 participants! Hehehe!
