Great little meeting today to introduce George to the offline KOA. Well, if the purpose of this gathering was to boost my and Nikos' confidence for the upcoming World Cup, we failed because Panayotis chose this exact moment to win his first tournament since 2006! And he did it by showing rare consistency, as he only lost one game by a single goal and in the title-deciding match against me he came back from trailing 0-3 for the draw, so he gained first place due to a better goal difference in our in between results.

I know that the standings paint a harsh picture for George, but most matches were much closer than the scores indicate. We rarely dominated possession against him, it's just that his finishing was not that accurate. He had plenty of excuses though, as 1) He played with a new (custom built) joystick, 2) He played offline for the first time in many years, and 3) He played on a 14'' monitor instead of the 27'' TV he is used to! Trust me, he has all the right moves and he intends to train hard and show up in the 2024 World Cup.
