World Cup 2023: The Torremolinos Bid

Postby Rodolfo » Sat Dec 31, 2022 4:09 pm

Friends, KOAers, Kickoffmen:

Who would be so crazy to offer to host the 2023 KOA World Cup after the sheer perfection displayed in Athens 2022?

The Spaniards, of course!

A group of FEKO members, with the collaboration and guidance of some of the best KOA people, is willing to host the KOA World Cup 2023 in Spain. The fundamental lines of the event have already been drawn during the last weeks, and this is what we can tell you at the moment:

Date: November 18th-19th 2023

Location: TORREMOLINOS. One of the most popular touristic destinations in the south meditarrean coast. It has the all necesssary infrastructure with the advantages of getting there in low season, which means better prices and no crowds. Located right beside Málaga - Costa del Sol airport (AGP), easily connected to Torremolinos by train, bus, taxi, uber, etc.

Ideal for some very nice short trips if you can take extra days: Málaga, with its vibrant city life and great museums; Ronda, the beautiful quintessential Andalousian village; Caminito del Rey, for those who fancy a truly amazing mountain trail; among many other attractions. Or you can just relax on the beach and enjoy the autumn sun.

Venue: A four stars beach hotel, search already down to two candidates, final deal still waiting to be closed if we get the KOA approval for this bid. We are working to keep the same level of prices and quality of the last World Cup.

In summary, do you want to have our favourite weekend of the year in Torremolinos? Come on, it will be fun!

I expect you will approve this bid, and of course I will be happy to answer any questions that may arise.

We are planning to put 12 stations. There is a hardware list yet to be done, and maybe we will have to ask nice KOAers for small items like scart cables, but not much else.

Seems like you have it covered. I can easily bring my own joystick.
