2019 UK Championships - Milton Keynes - First Shout

Postby JohnVella » Fri Jan 04, 2019 5:23 pm

Hi all,

Mark has asked me to start a thread to establish the best date for this year's UK Championships, which will be held in Milton Keynes, or Newport Pagnell, (which is just outside Milton Keynes)

I'll start the ball rolling with four dates. If you could select your preferred date and reply with that information, I'll give you a week or two then let Mark know, so he can find a venue.

Here are the dates:
5th May 2019
12th May 2019
2nd June
9th June

I've put a couple of dates in for May and June. I know the World Cup is in Germany this year, so I'm guessing that May would be better, but it's nice to have options.

Please spread the word to those who don't use the forum very often...

Thanks!

Good call mate. Nice to see there's action happening :)

But humour me; howcome does the WC being in Germany affect wether or not the UKC's should be in May or June?

I don't know how people are doing financially, and having the UK champs in May would give folk an extra month to save for Germany.

12th May gets my vote.
5th May is a bank holiday weekend, may clash with other things.
June has no Lee, so we can't have that!

Ooh, I didn't know that that the 5th was a bank holiday weekend...

OK, unless there are any justifiable objections, we'll set the date for the 12th May.

Over to you guys... anybody have a problem with the 12th of May?

Hi Guys

Ok, venue provisionally booked for the 12th... Will finalise in the week.

Free Tea, Coffee and biscuits... i also believe there should be a variety of cakes mid afternoon.

Located in Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes. This venue is just 1 mile from junction 14 on the M1.

Can we please start getting a list of names/ attendees and the all important Amiga/Television donors for the occasion.

The venue does rent rooms out for the night but there are many cheaper places within a few miles.

Bar and restaurant in the venue or we could all walk to my local THE KINGS ARMS for lunch (not that i have counted but approx 300 steps from the venue :) ), this is much more reasonably priced and good old fashioned pub food...

Address:
Harben House.
Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, MK16 9EY

Great news!
All dates good for me and Lee is essential.
Sunday 12 May 2019 is the last day of the Premier League season, with all ten games kicking off at 3pm, but if there's Kick Off 2 to be played, I'll be with you all in Newport Pagnell.
