How long's the drive?

From Stanstead airport, the journey by car will take approx. 2.5 - 3 hours depending on traffic.

If possible, Heathrow airport is the nearest, the car journey is approx. 1.5 hours.

According to Google maps Stanstead and Luton is about the same, and Heathrow defo the quickest alternative, yes.

From Milan we got a flight from our closest urban airport to Heathrow with Easyjet. That means it would be perfect for us if there is at least a direct train to get there. I would avoid a car sharing: it wouldn't be so safe due to our European drive!

From Heathrow airport you have 2 options:

1) National Express Coach - 2.5 hours (probably the most convenient option as it is direct from Heathrow airport to Bournemouth coach station). http://www.nationalexpress.com/destinat ... mouth.aspx

2) Train - 3 hours, this requires 2 or 3 changes.

For the cheapest, with the NEC, I land at £ 32.

Yeah, coach is probably the best choice from there.

Sure thing. But those prices depends on what hours of the day you can travel. For rush-hour tickets the prices are quite higher.

Let's make a new thread, maybe we should discuss which month, Bournemouth is always more fun in the warmer seasons.

Are there no more bids for hosting the World Cup?

Should we perhaps extend the deadline, let the dust settle from Christmas?
