But it would also be nice to know if they are considering signing up for the world cup as players.

Surely, I really hope to know there, If there would be the possibility, it would be lovely to have a world cup there, it was always my dream a Kick Off tournament at the sea side (who remembers Dubai 2011? :D ). but, we need to make some steps first. a very nice step could be to know them, maybe as some of the upcoming international tournaments, and world cup

The little difference is that Qatar covers Fifa of billions to go there. instead the KOA pays for himself.
I'm sure that if Qatar would pay every one on us for hotel, flights, venue, hardware, software, stuff, I'm sure that we would have no objections and we all would be grateful to go in Qatar! and probably we would have a 100+ players there! It is all about money, even when there is no money!

Mine was more a comment on the complete lack of football infrastructure in Qatar when they won the bid, which would be similar to giving Ibiza the WC without anything KO2 (KOA) related ever happening there in the past. Plus is was more a joke than anything serious :)

Gianni has done a superb job so far and I feel it is too late for me to bid for 2016.

I'd be happy to bid next year and for the years to come to host the WC in Bournemouth. However, I'm not sure how appealing this would be to the overseas attendees due to all the main airports being approx. 2 hours away by coach/car. Also, November by the sea in Bournemouth is not quite Ibiza.

Well, although you are north guys and you aren't afraid by the cold, I'm quite sure you will not do a good swim in November neither in Ibiza! Maybe with a wetsuit! We should move the world cup on summer then! :)

Andy; we could research the possibility for a B.A.R.F. (Bournemouth Amazing Roadtrip Festival).

I'm up for that. If there's interest I can organise something for this year or the next. :)

A quick search, using Stanstead airport, shows we could get a decently sized car for £ 80 for the last weekend (Friday-Monday) of October. Ok for 4 people to share, if they are cool with only hand luggage.

How long's the drive?
