Btw, how was it now with TV´s at hotelrooms these days...new TV´s cant deal with amiga and scart? This is something I do believe we need to sort out - friendlies before the wcup starts is something several of us appreciates. Danny, any ideas?

I have no idea I'm afraid. Judging from the photos the rooms have lcd tvs but that's all I know.

35 players already confirmed. This very good news so far as long as they will all show up in Dublin in the end.

But what about the "big bad guys" like Alkis and Dagh for instance? I am still missing a few names of regular participants.

I'm hoping for 5/10 late entrants , then we subtract 5/10 dropouts and we are back at 35. That's according to my maths :)

Good to hear Andy!

35 players already must be considered as excellent! Hopefully one or two of the greeks will be able to make it too...

True, these new TV-screens wont work for sure. Well, im sure we can solve this when getting there.

Hahaha! Look forward to seeing you all again!

Friendlies are as much fun as the tournaments for me, I plan to play loads of friendlies at the hotel too, maybe we could burrow a couple of the WC televisions? Or if that is out of the question, then we might have to buy a couple from a second hand store?

About the bigs, past year we had 4 multi World Cup winners, gathering 10 World Cup titles but it never happens all the years, in particular Dagh usually joins a World Cup each 2 years. Gianluca too, he rarely join the World Cup in consecutive years.
This particular year marks the absolute absence of Greek players and the reason is crystal clear, of course. Among them there is the multi world champions Alkis and Spyros. btw my best wishes to all our Greek KO friends and their families.
Anyway, although there is lack of world champions this year, there are many players that have all the card to rise the Holy Shied. And numbers say that every time it is said I'm the favourite for the title, I don't win.
So I believe there is much room for surprises this year. I will sell my life dearly though!
