Some Stats of the Copenhagen 2014 World Cup

Postby Torchiador » Fri Nov 21, 2014 5:13 pm

Ok, seen that Alkis is busy and we cannot read his world cup history, I write a couple of stats that could be interesting.
Btw, we were 26 players but very few players dropped something on the forum, I would like to read something from you dudes, we stay together 3 /4 days and you forget your friends a moment later?!?!?!

If my counts are right, this year we broke the wall of 9 goals per game at the World cup. the last record belonged to Voitsberg 2013 (8,31 goals per game). and it is the first time that for 4 consecutive years the goals average grows up: usually after an up there is a following down in the goals per game AVG, as it is shown in this image.

At the first world cup the goals per game avg was 5.03...
A stats like this says that in the KOA path brought the game to the next level. No matter the use of lockout, the AVG goals per game grows up. Everyone can make his own considerations.

Another interesting curiosity is that no man is a prophet in his own city:
In 14 world cups nobody won it in his own city. There were good candidates to make it, and the last in order of time was Dagh in Copenhagen. But it seems that when you join a world cup in your town, seen that you don't pay to make the trip, you pay in another way.

Well, in some case the organizers syndrome is surely involved in this stats, in some others not. an interesting fact though.

About the organizers syndrome, we could clearly see that took a toll on this year's organizer on day two...

Attendee stats:
Some players reached the double digit World Cup attendees.
They are:

Steve C (14WCs , 100%)
Alkis P (13WCs, 93%)
Rodolfo M (12WCs, 86%)
Jorg P (12Wcs, 86%)
Gianni T (11WCs, 79%)
Robert S (10WCs, 71%)
Peter S (10 WCs, 71%)
I think we should assign a DD award!

Oliver St and Wolf H will get the double digit the next world cup they will attend, hopefully next year!

just out of curiosity:

Gianluca T and Dagh N won always a medal at every world cup they attended. Copenhagen 2014 broke medal streak for both.
At the moment the longest active medal streak belong to Alkis (2). While the longest streak ended belong to me (8)
At Copenhagen 2014 for Dagh is also broken the world cup finals streak, ending it to 3 WC finals (not consecutive).
My streak of 5 consecutive world cup finals is safe for at least 5 years :)

The World Cup Attendance statistic is of course the most important one of all ;)
