KO - Gathering

At the moment we have 26 confirmed players.

As always, principles used are:

-Ranking points
-Performance in previous World Cups
-Performance in other tournaments
-Recent form and practice level
-Where two players must be separated, head-to-head record
-Personal opinions / quality assessment.

There will be 2 groups on Day One , we will draw from 13 groups of 2 people each. If there will be drops out/new registrations for the world cup, players will be arranged following the rules above.

The aim of this process is not to favour or punish any individual, but just to come up with two balanced groups .

I am happy with those seeding's, the thought and effort put into it is clearly worthwhile.

Finally, being able to witness the amount of work behind this, and it gets done every year, I bow my head to those doing the seedings.

Separating people into groups of four was already impossible enough. Separating them into couples must have been ridiculously difficult for whoever did this! I think it makes little difference which group people will end up in anyway, I'm trying out combinations and they always seem equally difficult.

Just like in any world cup that is crawling with Italians, I'l be happy to make it to the quarter finals. Anything higher than my usual 7th place will be a plus!

Now that I see the seedings I realize even more how impossible it is for me to make it into the quarter finals this time. So no pressure for me .

Think positive! every year there are many unexpected results and the seeding is always twisted by the final standing!
Said that, you are right, it will be a very tough world cup!
