This years UKC will be held in Oldbury Holiday Inn Express on Sunday 4th August 2013

(Previous date was 14th/28th July - This has now been moved to the 4th August)

Updated 11.04 : the UK Championships will take place from 11:00am on Sunday, dependant on total numbers.

There is still the opportunity, should interest decided, for an event on Saturday Afternoon also, please let me know if you wish this to take place.

Tournament Price is broken down as follows : -

Room Hire (1 day) : £130
Cups : £45
KOA Funding : - £40 (taken from the yearly KOA payment budget)

Total Cost :£135

Therefore expected cost per participant is as follows :

10+ entrants : £14

Obviously there is a McDonalds over the road, a pub next door, and the Bar does snacks and meals at reasonable prices (including a selection of sandwiches/pasties from the fridge). There will NOT be food served as part of the Package, you will be expected to feed yourselves.

There is plenty of accomodation available from £69 (Increased from original 37 per night) per night in the hotel (which is the price for Double/single/Twin room, so you can share for 35each and this will include a complimentary continental breakfast)

Please confirm if you can make this event asap, the more interest we get now the more people will consider coming later on - you all know the score.

Please also confirm if you would like a Saturday event, if we get enough interest this will happen.

Get a room ffs!

I'm sure the next UKC will happen, although I would expect discussion to be more lively on this matter the other side of xmas ;)

Ok guys,

Do we have anyone offering to host the UK Champs this year.

I suggest we look again at hosting this between May and June.

Can we firstly have some offers of hosting (are the Birmingham lads intersted in hosting again after an 18 month absence as they do such a good job normally)

Also who would be interested in attending if this was a 1 or 2 day event.

I will get this rolling, by putting dates, lets presume the venue is either Birmingham or Bournemouth unless we hear other people wish to set this up in their locale (London perhaps?)

The dates are as follows (all are showing the Saturday, but obviously could just as easily be both days or the sunday) - I will update this with one point for every 'definite' response, and half for every 'possible'

Date 1 : 11th May (1 Point)
Date 2 : 18th May (1 Point)
Date 3 : 25th May (1 Point)
Date 4 : 1st June (.5 Point)
Date 5 : 8th June (.5 Point)
Date 6 : 15th June (1 Point)
Date 7 : 22nd June (1 Point)
Date 8 : 29th June (1 Point)

Name : Mark Williams
Definite Dates : 1,2,3,6,7,8
Potential Dates : 4,5
Sat / Sun or both preferred : BOTH

Come on People!

Its not hard just to post whether you are interested and what dates you can do.

Lets leave all the cr*p around birthdays and weddings and funerals until nearer the time so we can at least agree on a venue and selection of dates.

I know for a fact people will not post, and then the event will be MORE expensive nearer the time, at which point everyone comes out the woodwork and complains about the price...or the date...or the location.

Angry!

Come on

Mark, looks like it's you, me and Camber so far!

Birmingham boys where are you? Rob, SimonB and all the other UK players?

Any interest from overseas KOAers?

Come on boys! It's now March we need to sort this out.

I'm committed to attending (in theory) ... I'm studying at the moment and I won't know about weekend lectures / essay deadlines until each modules starts.

But count me as a 'yes' ... wherever in the UK ... I'll be there

So now we have:

* Mark
* Camber
* Andy
* Simon

P.s. If I were a betting man, I would say you'll have a better chance of Robert attending if it's later in the year. But don't put any money on what I have to say!

P.p.s. How close to Gloucester would we have to be to tempt a Beard?
