Thanks Alkis! and compliments to claim back the #2 position in the kick off 2 world ranking.
Oliver is again the best German Player, the Fight with Frank is a neverending story!
Lorenzo C leaps in front of Mario getting the top 20, Andy even near the top 10 now, on the other side Steve C lost 7 positions and Lorenzo L 14 positions.
All these 4 players are on line players, so, probably it isn't precisely correct to say "raise of the on line players" it was more like a roller-coaster!

Maybe you're right. Then again I'm sure the number of games is a factor, I doubt Steve plays as often as Andy and Lorenzo.

What's interesting is that this is the first post-WC rankings where we had no new entries in the Top 10, although Steve E and Andy came close. In addition, unlike previous years players who had a good Silver Cup did not earn so many points because of the 2-legs Round 1. If someone spent Saturday getting thrashed in most games, there weren't enough matches for him to make up on Sunday. So players in positions 17-20 did not get more points than those in positions 13-16 as it used to be the case. I suppose people will see it as a good thing or a bad thing depending on their point of view.

You're all going to have to be a bit patient regarding the database and my web page.

5th in the World Cup and finally out of the top 20! It appears that my process of acquiring a minimum number of narrow victories in between heavy defeats is not fooling the ranking system I designed.

The amazing Simon K is breathing down my neck, with his best in the world defence.

This is a right old shake up but, interestingly enough, Simon Butt performed exactly as per his ranking!

Congratulations to Alkis on 2nd place. You're clearly better than Dagh now.

So many interesting changes.

First of all a big congratulation to:
- Gianni: Once again being the best player at the end of the year. Well deserved. You offered me some points as a Xmas present, hope you remember it
- Andy: great boost. You are top 4 atm, so hope you play enough tournaments this year to reach your position.
- Oliver St. Best german player, best position ever (?), as you said, you could have a nice Xmas.
- Frank: Still in the top 10, even that "the air goes you out" a little bit
- Steve E: Also a great performance. Head for the top 10.
- Garry C: Elite Rocket of the year.
- Michael Ma. Player of the year for me. The one how made the most progress.

And Finally Me!!! I'm above Volker!!! One point more! Hurra Hurra. First time ever a 5 in front of my place.
