Obviously having 3 kids, a family in South Africa to see, and work ties I cannot confirm 100%

But should all the above not get in the way then I would be very very interested in this event.

Perhaps it could be the UK CHAMPS as currently no one is up for hosting this event!

Get it sorted mate, maybe put out the usual 'what dates out of these 5 can people attend' to get ideas of the best time to host such an event.

I would be more than happy for the UKC to become an overnight event once more...thats what made the old ones like Gloucester, Reading etc far more enjoyable than one day 'turn up and rush off' events :)

Also, what time is the 'REAL' Football?

Sounds interesting! A also real soccer would be cool!
If it was to me, I would prefer a one day tournament as I don't think to be able to get more than one day off, I have to save days for Dubai! ;) so in case, I would come from Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday. in case there are flight on Saturday early morning and Sunday late evening/night, I even could do a stop 'n' go.
Surely interested as much as I'm interest to German/Austrian tournaments: Thorsten and friends have some plans, I do think, it would be nice to have/use the kick off calendar to schedule tournaments and to not have Overbooking problems in the same week end or to many tournaments close to each other.

Sounds good to me! As Durbz says, list some dates and we'll respond to those in the first instance.
I have been thinking that KORA (Kick Off Reading Association) should potentially change to KOSE... Kick Off South East... And you and James Bu would be members! Would probably also suit others better, like Waynie, Bounty Bob, Haydn, Simon Bu etc as I was the only one in Reading, and not sure when the next event will be there.

(Can I have a new signature please, to the PhotoShop experts!?)
Thanks... and welcome to KOSE ... Or "Association of Reading & South East Kick Off"?! ARSE-KO? :P

I vote for ARSE-KO! That will make the tournaments between you and us (Fökof) very interesting. :)

Count me in as extremely interested too! :) I'll go with the majority view for any key decisions. e.g one or two day event

Some feedback on dates from our UKC organising experiences... we've usually gone for a May date, though appreciate such a UK Open could potentially clash with the Italian Championships in the same month. So to maximise attendance we've avoided bank holidays as well as the months of June, July, August and September (there's always someone who's away). That said, the multi-national UKC'07 was very successfully held in Reading in June! As you know Robert's popular London Internationals were held in February or March, though appreciate that would be too soon after the World Cup. If you ever want to discuss any organiser-related issues, I'm always just a phone call away.

This thread is music to my ears. You're a star on and off the pitch and now you're joining the organising game too! Nice one, Andy. 8)

Thanks for the feedback all. I'm very happy to see you guys are up for it!

Sid, it's an honour to be tapped into your society, although I am anxious about the initiation. Simon, I hope your bro can make it too?

Gianni, great to see you are up for this, I think the 2 Lorenzos will be too.

Regarding dates, I will update the first post with a list as Mark suggested, I've increased the month range to start from February as it would be nice to get maximum attendance. Thanks for the advice Garry and Mark, Garry, as you are the organisation pro, I will definitely be calling you!

Now that the month range is Feb-Sept, could everyone who is interested list which months they could do? Then, I could narrow down the weekend options.

8) 8) 8)

I could do any months apart from August and September. A nice May tournament has a ring to it... anything in the mid summer will clash with England winning Euro 2012. :| :D
But to be honest, I would rather play Kick Off 2 than sit down and watch TV, so any date apart from August and September (those months contain a fair few Birthdays)

I cannot do March or April as I will be in South Africa.

Got a lot of work on in May, but can probably wing a weekend. June is normally ok as is August but July I am on hols at the arse end.

September is fine, as long as we avoid the 20th as that is a very very special day ;)

Couple of points

- This tournament should BE the UK championship
- Avoid June, July, August as you won't find any weekend without someone on holiday

I will attend for certain.

Excellent, I will change the title accordingly.

So, we are looking at Feb, March, April, May and maybe September. Thanks to those of you who have posted your preferred months.

To the foreign players who are interested, please let me know which months are suitable.
