Also unusual was the small number of participants, since nobody from outside Koenigswinter joined us and Udo was bussy until late night, when he joined us for another tournament.
But the rest of the tourny-night was as usual - International Teams, vs. 1.05 and teamselection as followed :
- Michael L - Spain - complaining heavily about (and maybe even struggling a little bit with) his joystick and his luck and...
- Carsten P - Germany - poor guy had to wait a long time in a pub to get picked up - not the best place to prepare yourself for KickOff !
- Patrick S - France - working succesfully on his scoring ability, but maybe too little on his defensive skills
- Cornelius H - Sweden - trying to positively put to practice, what I experienced in my defeats in Dubai a week before
Slides where both left on. ( The official Koenigswinter KickOff board is extremly conservative ! )
We played two rounds (Koenigswinter 35) before Udo appeared and we started a new tournament (Koenigswinter 36).
Koenigswinter 35 first round :
Carsten P 2 - 2 Cornelius H
Michael L 5 - 0 Patrick S
Patrick S 3 - 5 Carsten P
Cornelius H 4 - 3 Michael L
Carsten P 4 - 4 Michael L
Patrick S 1 - 4 Cornelius H
Koenigswinter 35 second round :
Cornelius H 4 - 1 Carsten P
Patrick S 1 - 3 Michael L
Carsten P 7 - 0 Patrick S
Michael L 0 - 7 Cornelius H
Michael L 6 - 2 Carsten P
Cornelius H 9 - 0 Patrick S

Joined by Udo we started Koenigswinter 36. Guessing from the name of his only scorer M.J.Bond, he seemed to have taken Scottland, instead of his normal pick, the italian team. Maybe he was impressed by the strong performance of the scottish team, when they were led on the field by Oliver or Frank in recent getherings.
Koenigswinter 36 :
Udo T 1 - 1 Patrick S
Michael L 3 - 3 Cornelius H
Carsten P 8 - 0 Udo T
Patrick s 0 - 3 Michael L
Cornelius H 6 - 3 Carsten P
Udo T 0 - 5 Michael L
Patrick S 2 - 7 Cornelius H
Carsten P 6 - 1 Michael L
Cornelius H 6 - 0 Udo T
Patrick S 1 - 10 Carsten P

Carsten - wise as he is - stated at the begining of the evening, that he wouldn't play his best KickOff that night, but have the most fun. In this discipline you are clearly the champ !
Michael was so busy complaining about his joystick and nearly everything else, that he had little concentration left for KickOff. But loosing 0 - 7 to me, only to come back with a 3 - 3 draw doesn't look like a good proof for a bad joystick.
But at least he was the "champ of the cards" with 12 yellow and two red cards. C. Payne, his #10, was the man of this "competition", gathering 4 yellow and two red ones all by himself.
Scorer of the night was Sweden's Jack Palmer with 20 goals, followed by Spain's Einar Kemp and Germany's Alex Day with 17 scores each. All of them are playing #9 in the 4-2-4 tactic were are all using.
Again it was great fun to all of us, even if we were so few that night. But maybe there will be some guest joining us for the next time. You now, you are always invited.
