This will also be my first tourney where I will be writing a review of my games so I will have to take a little more notice of whats going on but we will see. Im not playing my best KO at the moment but as Ste knows Im a big game player so Fri should be interesting (sorry mate just had to)

  I'm still reeling from that game mate! lol. There I was, gunning JonG to try and win the UK Champs and you completely derailed me! Really great performance though mate and have to hold my hands up to ya.

Looking forward to reading your tournament review too. Theyr great to read at the time but even better after a few years and nice for new players to see what it's all about when deciding whether to attend or not.

Thought you'd like the KOBRA history I've added to the top post, Si. Especially this one. I hope to add more links containing other tourney stories too, which is all part of the event for me! :) You're right, I've yet to claim a KOBRA title, though have come close to it. Remember Steve! Damn, should have tried harder before Stevie got so good! Then again, Jon G is a man-mountain between anyone and the top spot!

As we discussed, I intend to trial the latest KO2CV on friday with full APT choice. Whatever players' views on cpu-controlled slides/headers, assisted dribbling control and assisted trapping control, each player can decide their own preferences. I've no appetite whatsoever to stir up old debates but for this tournament I do want to encourage choice. Play it your way!

I've been in contact with a few other people and would be thrilled if we could add another name or two to the comfimed list, especially if it involved a KOA debut! 8) Watch this space....

What better way to playing the new version than doing so at KOBRA - can't wait. This is what gaming's all about.

I agree Ste, the best way to give this version a test drive is to stick it straight into a tourney. I honestly can't see there being any issues with it on fri.

Your History of Kobra is great Gaz some very memorable moments.

It certainly does sound good. Will just have to wait for the feed back from friday about the version. Its very promising with the newbie interest and you never know we could even stumble upon a hidden gem.

Barring any baby disasters I am now 100%. No chance of any new KOAers as the night out in Birmingham that was in the offing seems to have died a death. Probably just as well as am surviving on 4-5 hours sleep a night at the mo.

Regarding KO2 versions - it makes no difference to me. I'm shit, and I know I am. :) Plus, not picked up a joystick since the UK Champs last year I don't think.

Cheers for the update, Grant, and pleased things are looking on for you. :) Maybe next time for your mates.

I remember each KOBRA you've played, we've all noticed improvements in your game even if it might not feel it from your side. I guess with your new baby and sleepless nights, the pressure if off on friday! ;) The prospect of other newcomers is still a possibility too as I have a few irons in the fire still.....

Here's another for ya, Si. Way back from KOBRA I, remember your injury time free-kick winner? Oh, the agony!!!

Not for the lack of trying but we haven't been able to add to the players list. Nevertheless, barring any late entries (which of course of welcome :)), we've nevertheless giving high fives, for the famous five....

Confirmed:
1. Garry C
2. Steve E
3. Simon K
4. Jon G
5. Grant N

Let's hope for a 5-star tourney! 8)

A huge thanks to the guys for making tonight happen. In particular to Grant for making the longest journey despite recently becoming a father again and feeling so sleep-deprived. 8) A big cheers to Gra also who's late entry as the 6 million dollar man adding extra excitement to tonight's events! :) Cheers fellas.

Due to players arriving at different times, the four of us played a quick x1 warm-up tourney. We had anticipated Simon K's participation but he was delayed unfortunately. Nevertheless, congratulations Stevie! :no1:

Then, with everyone present, the main event. This x2 tourney has got to be one of the strangest KOBRA's yet with more twists and turns than ever! 8) My head is still spinning! Reports to follow but here's the league and congrats to Jon for pulling this one out of the hat! :no1: Commiserations to Si who had a superb tourney involving not one but two victories over title winner!! :eeko:
