'Last Ever' London Tournaments Friday 11th Dec Results P3

Postby Robert Swift » Tue Dec 01, 2009 2:03 pm

Some of you may have heard that
a) I am leaving the UK
b) I have more space in my flat these days

These factors have combined, to inspire me to host my last ever tournament in the UK (until l come back).

The tournament will be in Rickmansworth, starting 7pm, Friday 11th December. Doors open 6.30pm. Food will be by way of extreme pizza interaction.

I already have confirmation from two old legends of the KOA, James Lockerbie and Simon Butt, who will be coming out of retirement and back into action after three and two year absences, respectively. I'd like to extend this invitation to all of the KOA but in particular to Waynie, Bounty Bob, Stainy, Sid, Trader, Haydn .... the guys that used to make these Rickmansworth tournaments great.

Settings will be World Cup settings, all slides on, and we will be using the Voitsberg World Cup KO2CV. If players are equal in the table though, we will use the UK rule of goal difference.

Sign up here....

CONFIRMED

Simon B
Robert S
James L

Sorry mate, I would have liked to attend but this is the date of my Xmas Works night out, possibly my last :(

Its also the day before my daughters 3rd birthday :(

I do hope to attend 'another' event before you leave, however, and I will win at least 1 match!

Confirmed.

As it stands, this is exactly the same turn-out as my very first KO tournament and I got ass-banged by three very good players. Given that there are 3, 2, and 1 year absences from KO2 for James, Simon and I, this smacks of a ranking points mugging session for Robert!

Anyway, thanks for invite. =)

Indeed a shame you can't make it BB; are you in contact with Gaydn Mr Bearded-Spock 'false Clooney' Hamm?

Hmm, that sounds interesting. I would like to come over for this special occasion of Robert to give him a special goodbye (similar to the last match at old Wembley in 2000  )

Is there any chance of accomodation in your almost emptied flat?

We were talking about playing Kick Off just this week. Haydn is keen top play but not with you. That is you, or any person that employs kick off lobbery. He was moaning, (surprise, surprise), about how much he hates KO lobs, or indeed any kick off routine and how they spoil the game for him.

He is very interested in playing a tournament where there is a rule that you have to put the ball back to your keeper after the opponent scores. Can anyone say GaYdn?

I shall certainly mention the 11th to him but I don't think he'll be interested.

Well, I am quite happy not to KO Lob Gaydn.... but Waynie will be here. Twist his arm anyway? Maybe we could promise in advance not to allow it and then do it anyway, to have fun seeing how he reacts?

Really, I can sympathise; I used to hate the K O L but I realized that, if you couldn't beat em, join em. Am sure Waynie could give a tutorial. Worked for me.

Steve did actually put in some K O L prevention feature, actually. I will go and have a look at the Voitsberg edition to see what it is and whether I can turn it on.
