Jacob - that location is worthy of a World Cup. Maybe the first Scandinavian-hosted World Cup. We will talk further about this.....

OK... We caught Rayge's train home with a few minutes to spare... And we finally managed to break my joystick at 3am last night...

It has been a splendid and unforgettable week for me, and words don't suffice to express my appreciation for the efforts of all involved. Thorsten and Volker, thanks a lot for accepting a 12-hour drive each way to come and play with us. It felt really, really good to have you here, and you were the deciding factor in making the weekend a huge blast.

Just to recap for curious readers: We were 7 people at the tournament, and 4 nations represented! A record ratio!? On Friday night, Jacob and John came over to my place in Copenhagen, and shortly after, Volker and Thorsten arrived as well. We had some mingling time, sharing a beer and chatting, while also a few games were played on the Amiga Altar. Then we went down-town for a beer before Jacob and John went back to Lund in time for setting up the tournament the next day, and Thorsten and Volker and Rayge and me then had another drink at a cosy place before heading home. We finally got to bed at like 4am. On Saturday, we arrived to Lund with everything set up perfectly, it was true plug-and-play. I am sure that if all the UK guys had called just one hour before start in need of a new venue, Jacob and John would have handled it as the most natural thing to expect and deal with. Torgny was representing the Landskrona BoIS, and it was really great to see that he did so well in the tournament, having quickly adapted to the KOA level of play. The tournament was played in a highly relaxed atmosphere, with time for chats, watching others play, having a lunch, etc. After the tournament, we went to Malmö to a really nice place where we could watch the deciding WC qualifier between Denmark and Sweden and have a moose burger and drink as well. Volker+Thorsten+Rayge+me went back to Copenhagen in time for a few goodnight beers and talks, and early Sunday morning, we had to wish Thorsten and Volker a good ride home. Thanks a lot for being such easy guests to host! I feel truly honored to having had you here.

I will post more about the tournament later, and we also have a bunch of pictures to share. Now we first wait for the results to be posted! :P

There was only one problem with this event.....

... the date.

I would have liked to attend. Never mind! I should at least see some of you next month (except the cowards Dagh and Jon).

What a weekend!
Happy like a child to play my first tournament in Sweden and see new faces, i can´t sleep the night. Try to get me down with alcohol, but it did not work. As i hear at 5am Thorsten not snore anymore, i asked him if we should start the travel now, but he wants sleep further. So i had to wait 6:57 6:58 6:59 come on alarm clock run faster! Point 7 i wake him up and after a long breakfast we hit the road.
On the road i make a big mistake. At 3pm i start to fight my tiredness with beer and Thorsten was a little bit sick of seeing so many toilets between Hamburg and Copenhaven. :)
A great welcome from Dagh at his home! Very nice from John and Jacob that they come over from Sweden to play some matches with us!Thanxs to Regis that you shared your holiday souvenirs of this special part of Copenhaven with me!(My mouth is still dry  )
After that i was dead and want to go to bed. But instead of sleep, suddenly i found me back in a bus to the city. Copenhaven is a great town. Thank you all(specially Dagh) for this good night out!
Greater than the town was only my headache next morning.
Braindead like a zombie enter the train to Lund.
Arrived at Lund we had some problems to find the right way. Leave the station on one site and ask for the way, enter again, leave at the other site ask for the way, enter again, leave on the first site again... stupid tourist

sorry have to stop here will write on next time!
Also sorry for no pictures(My computer not connects to the camera anymore :?o: ) Hope it is not because i let the cam fallen to the ground yesterday twice. Will try it now at a friend!

Nice video. It's so funny and legendary at the same time to see and hear Thorsten's emotions again and again. He has a face as long as a fiddle at the beginning of the video.

It seems that the 10/10 date was the kick off day! :)
I'm really happy when people enjoy to play KO2 together, I just fill a bit sad as I wasn't part of the party!
It would be a forcing to say that the Dagh's victory was unpredictable. But I'm quite sure that the word "tournament" is something that makes everything possible and every game is really unpredictable. My compliment to Dagh!
Please organizers, post the numbers and pictures!
BTW, nice video!
Are you still sure you will not attend the WC guys? Come on! The Holy Shield wants (to beat) you again!

I came home from Denmark on Monday, and sorry I didn't really have time to post here, to say big thanks to Dagh, who hosted me during my holidays in Copenhagen, and to Jacob and John who organised an excellent whole day in Sweden, including a Kick Off tournament, and a great dinner while watching football (despite the sad result).

It will take a little time to write all the stuff I have to say, I have excellent memories from the tournament in Lund, and I loved it in all aspects. I'll get back later to tell the little stories :D

We had a problem with the fixture software files, in the file info it says last saved 17.34 (which is when i pressed save during the tournament) but no results were included only the fixture schedule. So what we've used half this week for is to collect results from all 7 players and some video footage and photos by Regis :fr: to reconstruct the table.

I though about this too when i saw it but i'd say that for a 30-40 player wc it might be ok but if it gets any bigger then i'm sceptical. I am however thinking of arranging a tournament the size of London international with about 20 players(that is if I can get that many). This would also help me to estimate my capability of hosting a large tournament.
