15.....we made it after all. It was a close run thing! Let's hope no-one drops out now.

About the laptop with fixtures: I am hoping Steve Evil can provide this as per last year? If not, I can be the backup option, but as it's my company PC I am always a little nervous about this.

Please do bring it, Andy, even if it serves as a back-up machine. Jacob's right anyway - KO2CV means P2 uses keys 6-0 to change tactics/PBD. :)

What are folks' predictions for the outcome then ?

I vote Jon wins, followed by Robert and Steve. I am sure Gary has improved too, he will be up there. I will be happy with a mid-table placing considering I have not played since Newent yonks ago.

I am hoping for my first KOA match win, and therefore avoiding the wooden spoon

What Martin said!
But also Simon has won a tournament last time and Andy G is a secret favourite for me.
I think it will be a close run up for the top 3, so give your best guys and have fun!

And after you all kick for victory, kick your asses to Voitsberg, ffs

I'd definately agree that Jon, Robert and Steve E are the big three, followed very closely by Martin and Steve C (if he makes it). I agree that Andy G and Simon K are ones to watch also. I think it is fantastically exciting that there are so many contenders for the title! 8) 8) 8)

I hear Jon is out of practice and without an amiga! Maybe he hasn't the same hunger as last year or maybe he's lulling his opponents into a false sense of security? Robert maybe has a point to prove after coming so close last year and with him going abroad at the end of the year, it would be a fairy tale of sorts. Then there's Mr Evil who has got everything a player needs to be the UK Champion 8)

As for me, I hope my KO2 rolloercoaster finishes mid-table, though with organiser syndrome to contend with, I can't be sure. I'd be thrilled with a top-half finish mind but am certainly not banking on it.

Enough of my opinions, here's the views of the statastic stats analyser. Ren and Navid aren't included because they'll be making their debuts, plus I've included Steve C based on wishful thinking. :)

Just to add that from my point of view, the UK Champs is about more that discovering the new UK Champ, as exciting at that is! 8)

I like to view the league as being divided in three mini-leagues - the title contenders, the mid-table free for all, and the basement battles! Whereever you find yourself, I think there's always something to play for! :) To try to further maximise the fun, we're having two fun cups - one for the top-half players and one for the bottom half based on rankings. I know from personal experience that winning the 2008 Silver Fun Cup was a thrilling if modest achievement! :D

I genuinely hope everyone attending has a blast! Let's get this tourney started..... :) :) :)

If I can get into the same zone as I did for the London one (not the zone where we got stranded in Luton and couldnt find the meal venue ffs) then I'm gunning to finish in the top 3!
Last year I never in my wildest dreams would think of finishing 4th and had it not been for that pesky James Beard I'd have won it! So this year I want to go a step better. :) would love to have a game on the big screen in the form of the gold/silver cup :)

I'll never win.

Jon G strong favorite....Andy G with his Dagh-training could well make the top 3.
