World Cup 2009

Postby Torchiador » Tue Nov 25, 2008 3:23 pm

Where? When?
Someone whispered Germany, Austria, Norway, even Greece! :)
Of course after the standard that Alkis imposed with this World Cup, we expect great things from next organizers!
BTW, I'm one of those who have no problem to come back in Athens :) Of course, Shield aside, it was the Perfect World Cup, very good food that was also the cheapest than every other world cup, best quality/price for hotel, great city for tourism... Thanks again to Alkis (and those who helped him)
Anyway I like to read what it is true about the gossip I heard in Athens...

Besides the Oliver option, I have also thought that maybe we could pressure Thorsten to organize it in Mallorca.

I'm all for Mallorca. ;)

That aside, I'd be happy to host, but - as we've concluded before - no one would come.

That also aside; I'd be very happy to have a WC in my neighbourhood. It's so friggin' long travelling to the southern hemisphere every year. :P

hi @ all :)

i read all the posts regarding the world cup 2008 and must say, that was very impressive. gratulations to the organizers :)

now, for the second try :). how about a world cup in austria?

it could be the first time, that a worldcup will happen in austria. enjoy the mountains, the silence, the famous white horses :), graz, voitsberg.

the graz airport is reachable with a few cheap airlines such ryanair and so on.

a few links:

http://www.graz.at
http://www.voitsberg.at
http://www.baernbach.at
http://www.srs.at (Piber, home of the white horses)

we held this year the first austrian championship (with a german winner :) ). we played in a room at the city hall. in case of getting the wc 2009 we could get the great hall.

sorry for not coming to this years world cup, but private things prevented the attention :(

In Athens Thorsten told me about your perfect venue in Austria, he said that it would be the best ever, I'm really curious...
