Can people not interested or having difficulty attending a 2-dayer please explain why? And what, if anything, can be done to mitigate it?

Birmingham really is pretty central. I don't see anyone I know of having to travel for more than 1.5 hours to get there or back.

Yes, it's not like anyone is flying up from Heathrow...

What would it take to get your brother to come Jon?

Yes, as much as I would like to have a chance, Ben Greenaway should attend (win) this in his home town.

what, are you flying up or am i just being dense? i recommend the M40, it's nice & quiet and you might even see some red kites! (around the chilterns)

hopefully ben'll come. he ain't played much lately but if he turned up i'd make him odds on favourite, closely followed by rob & me. i think there'll be a few dark horses though.

any chance of wanie coming or has he truly disappeared into oblivion?

Yes, I'v sent GingerPete a txt. This will be the last tournament I host before the UK Champs - it'l have KO2 players who are not elite, so people a fine chance to practice IMHO. Come on Pete!

Slight hitch with the Five-a-side footy!!!

Tried to book this today but the latest saturday slot is 430-530 ! :( This is due to the closing time of the leisure centre, and saturday is there's early closing day!

I'd suggest we've got two options:

1) Play footy Sat 430-530, and consider starting slightly earlier so tournament action would be between 10/10.30-4pm
or
2) Play footy Sun 930-1030, and keep tourney action between 11-4pm

What your preferences ? Any other ideas ? Another idea altogether might be to drop the footy plans and play tenpin bowling instead on the saturday evening ? I'll go with the majority...
