What club team do you support?

Postby Beckite » Fri Aug 29, 2003 1:03 am

Ill start it off and say Glasgow Rangers.
Supported them all my days, mainly due to my father early on but now due to love and passion for the only team in Scotland.
Share your passion and stories here.

Peace.

In Norway - Brann. No other teams are even closely interesting. Of course, beeing from Bergen kinda makes it difficult to like any other team but Brann is deffy the most special club in Norway. Everyone has an opinion on them. Everyone knows about them. They've allways been one of the clubs one expect alot from, but they have'nt won the league since 1963 FFS!!! And the cup was 1982... Many established players come from other clubs to Brann - and they flop. When they leave, for only a small percentage of the price Brann paid, they bloom again. FFS!!! But anyhow, they allways (last 15 years at least) manage to stay in the elite. During the '80s it was hell. They went up and down between the two upper divisions, but they now stay up. They've finished allright sometimes, not so good sometimes. This year they've struggeled in the bottom for most of the league, but are really on the move now. Best team last 6 rounds. Last round ended 6-1, crushing one of the medal-contenders. Now Brann might even take home a medal. The series are incredibly tight this year. Just 8 mathces to go, and about 15 points differ between silver and 3'rd from bottom. Just Roscumborg are alone at the top.

In England - Aston Villa
Liked them since Andy Gray's days in about 1984. Can't say I follow them closely, but I check for results, and I've got a Villa-shorts.

And, I've got a softspot for Everton. The first team I liked, and I liked them since my dad once gave me an Everton scarf....

AEK Athens. I watched first match in '78 against Kastoria. Since then I have been mad with my team!

Wolves. Since early 90s. I thought they were cool and Steve Bull was god!

Swansea City is my team. Living in Swansea all my life so the only choice. Nearly relegated out of the league last year. Things looking better this year. Hopefully we can back to the First division in a couple of years and then maybe back in to the top flight. 20 years ago we were top of the league having just thrashed leeds. I think if you want a bet on a team in the third division then go for Swansea to be Promoted the odds should be good after last year.

I am also a Aberdeen fan as my grandfather came from there and i have always followed their results.

AEK in Greece, because it's more than a club; it's a way of living.
Anderlecht in Europe, because I played for their teen team for two years.

I support Torino, the other club of my city...we hate Juventus
We are in Serie B now, but we had a glorious history...and we did play the Uefa Cup final 1992 v Ajax (2-2 0-0 lost on away goals)

But probably I love much more another team, the same of my friend Freshmaker...Brann
Byen è Bergen, laget è Brann...heia Brann, Brann, Brann !!!!!!
What do u think? An italian who supports a norwegian team? Yes, I'm definitely an uncommon person, and I really love northern countries (not only for the girls  )

Morevoer, i follow strictly english soccer, lower divisions especially...but my fav english club is Tottenham here.
