Guys. Christina and me are considering a 3-4 weeks stay somewhere quiet, from late april next year, just us with our two youngest kids. Does any of you guys own, or know someone who owns, an apartment or something, we can rent? We're not talking Athens or Milano, we're talking a quiet place, preferably at an island...

I don't own an apartment on a Greek island (I wish), but if you go somewhere as early as late April you will have tons of options and fair prices. Tell me more details as to what you are looking for exactly. When you say quiet, do you mean like this:

or like this?

In my opinion choosing a very small and notoriously quiet Greek island in April would be a mistake, it's too off season and you'll have trouble finding places to go that are in operation. A mid-size, mid-fuzz island would be a perfect choice. But tell me more about what you have in mind.

Thanks for replying buds.

What we're thinking about, is to have somewhere to just live, for 3-4 weeks, if we can pull it off. :) As said, we're bringing our 2 youngest, and they'll be 11 months and 3 years and 4 months at the time. So no disco, no pubs, no partytime. We just wanna calm down, and use this opportunity to do something else. Christina's taking some extra time off with Lily, so she's off work for a year, and following that, I'll have 6 weeks off, to take care of Lily. So we'll have time off with a salary. :)
Why we wanna rent an apartment? Well... We're coming there to, kind of, just live, so staying at a regular hotel would jus be a bit off... We wanna have our own place, go to the shops to get groceries, make our own food, go for walks, preferably near a beach, etc...
A small town/village would be nice, not a deserted island. The deserted island will be highly wanted when Lily's old enough to go with Jesper and stay at their grandparents for a week, so I can bring ONLY DB

Crystal clear. Note that even if you'll have no need for pubs etc. you'll still need a couple of places to eat and buy groceries from, that is why I do not advise very small islands that are dead so early in the year.

Give me a couple of days and I'll be back with a list of suggestions. :)

I think you would love Preveza, you can combine it with Parga (very beautiful place). These are not islands but cities by the sea on the west side of Greece, near the Ionian see. You can easily visit some islands near there, like Ithaca or Lefkada. Keep in mind there's an international airport near Preveza, called Actium.
You should take a look at Corfu as well instead of the above. Corfu is my favorite island!
Take a look at Paros island, if you like it, I can ask my friend Orestis (the one that has beaten Alkis 10-0 :-P~ ), maybe he can help as he's from there and he knows people.

I approve of Paros island as a very "children-friendly" island to visit. My sister used to spend many summers there with her family.
Also how about Rhodes. It's a big island (and my all time fav) and has lots of places to visit and see even during spring. I've spent about a year there and i can say that it's a perfect place for any time of the year (especially when it isn't hot as hell).
You could stay in Lindos which is a pretty idyllic village, or even downtown Rhodes with its beautiful old city (magnificent castle as well, if you are into that kind of sightseeing).
The only drawback for Rhodes is that currently it's on fire (literally) and i don't know the extend of the damage to its natural habitat :cryo: ...still, an excellent choice nevertheless!

Hm... Alkis; I've lost count...

We're talking about Lesvos, cause we went there 3 years ago and had our best vacation. Found an apartment-complex on the beach in Petra. Right next to where we stayed that time. Really thinking about it...

Mid August. This time we're talking last week of April, first 3 of May. 4 in total.
