The Apple thread

Postby Sid » Sat Nov 26, 2011 10:48 am

You're (nearly) all tech geeks, so thought we could have a discussion on Apple products and services. (not intended to be a battle on Apple v Android!)

So currently I have an iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, and just bought my wife an iPhone 4S (I'm trying to hold out for the iPhone 5!).
We haven't got a MAC, for now (previously posted a couple of years ago that it was on the agenda).

My initial problem is this:
Old laptop is dead, got a new PC.
My iTunes library is on the iPhone 3GS.
Needs to be copied into the new iTunes on new PC. Syncing erases and puts iTunes onto Apple device, I want the polar opposite! iTunes purchases have gone into the library, but not the downloads.

I came across this informative article, but it doesn't answer this situation. Others have asked too...

Can anyone advise the easiest and cost effective way to solve this please?
Many thanks!!

Simple instructions here: http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Your-Music-from-Your-iPod-With-iTunes

I've done this a couple of times using those instructions (with my ancient 'classic' ipod that refuses to die and my neighbours ipod-nano).

Hello I think I will hijack this to post apps I like

I have been using TUBEBOX for about a week, its mint.

you can search and download YOUTUBE vids, have them in their own folders, watch them offline and upload them to different places (even just the audio etc)

Its brilliant. I have a folder full of old music vids I love, then one full of ko2 videos.....can watch them all offline whenever I like now ;)
