I can't believe the ginger buffoon with the stupid Dutch accent is replacing a manager that I really liked. I'm embarrassed and sad at the same time.

We have talked about this guy before here, he´s been succesful in one single club so far (Twente) This is one of these trainers i cant understand keep on getting jobs at decent clubs even though they rarely delivers anything else than average results. Surely you can look forward to Nottingham finish 12:th next season

Steve McClaren had plenty of cash when at Mboro and got them to a middle table position as best out of the 5 seasons there. Even if success in one of the domestic cups, i doubt his spell there can be considered successful.

He failed completely at Wolfsburg with strong lineup, Dzeko, Grafite, Diego, for instance.

Failure with England.

However, one should be honest enough to give him credit for his time at Twente. Winning the league head of Ajax and PSV is close to mission impossible. He should be proud over that achievement.

All in all, 1 or 2 good seasons out of 7-8 is not great...

These days it's less about the ability of the manager and more about what budget he's got to spend.

Sometimes you have to get a 'high profile' manager in to get that extra cash injection to achieve your ambitions. Davies has had loads of cash and encourages exciting attacking football ... but has failed in 2 x playoffs.

I think Steve McClaren gets a hard time.

Would I want him to manage Everton? No thanks ... but he's not as shit as everyone makes out.

He was the wrong man for the England job ... it was too early (or even a step too far) ... but he was essentially groomed for the role by the media who demanded we had an English manager ... and at the time he was technically the only English candidate who had won ANYTHING (Carling Cup + UEFA Cup Final). Since then he's won the Dutch league and we've only had 1 x FA Cup final success with Harry Redknapp ... and a UEFA Final from Roy Hodgeson (who had such great success at Liverpool).

From what I've read, Wolfburg was far from his failure (more to do with arrogance and in-fighting from the players) ... in fact they won more points under McClaren than after he left.

I think he might surprise everyone ... what are the odds on Forest getting promoted now?

P.s. What Forest need is a SCOTTISH manager ... Scotland players might be crap but they breed great managers :) Maybe the Forest directors got confused and thought McClaren was Scottish?

Well, after he left the case was also that Dzeko left, the only player that kept his form during 2010/2011. Grafite, when not injuried, did not deliver many goals last season compared to earlier seasons. What i mean is that McClaren had Dzeko at disposal, wich his successor did not.

Not to mention the sham after said failure. He should have been a man and resigned.
