Really annoying me now. It refuses to connect! When I go to the connection panel, it gives me a little image that says it is connected to the modem, so therefore on a local network, but it then says it doesnt have permissions to connect from the modem to the internet....

My XP netbook connects fine
Rob's Vista laptop connected fine
My Dad's Vista laptop connected fine

The problem is with the settings on the computer and I can't manage to resolve the issue

Pop in a lunix live CD.

Forget vista, and use OpenSUSE, Mint or Ubuntu.. Or go dual boot and have the best of both worlds!

No luck messing about with DNS settings? What happens with http://216.239.59.104 ?
