How difficult/easy is iPhone development?

I suspect multitouch 2 player iPhone ko2 will not be a success :)
Can you attach db9 joystick with minimal hacking somehow or should I get an android phone?

Not difficult, but it's all relative. Seems no easier or harder to me than developing for anything else.

I suspect you may be right.

Calipoli is an all new puzzle action game for the iPhone. Easy to play yet hard to master, Calipoli provides entertainment and a challenge for beginners to grand masters.

If you want the all out intensity of an expert marathon game, or to just chill out on easy, the choice is yours. If you only have a fixed time to play, then there are the timed modes, for the score attack challenge.

Features:
5 game modes. 3 levels of difficulty for a marathon game and 2 timed games.

Auto-save. Whether you're taking a phone call, or just need a break, Calipoli will save your game position for you.

iPod compatible. Play your own music while you play, without interruption to your listening.

Interactive tutorials take you through the basic and advanced gameplay elements.

High Scores. Five high score tables, with the top ten scores saved for each game mode.

Twelve achievement badges to collect.

Released under the company name "Mark Bishop", as shown on gamefaqs! Wow, I didn't know that. Has it been profitable so far?

It's tradition to use the KOA as blatant advertising when you release a game! Don't wait so long next time.

I've not looked into iPhone dev yet. Do you actually need the device or are there emulators? What tools do you need? iKO2 sounds cool ;)

You use XCode on OS X and do cross compilation I think.

A simulator is provided with the SDK, which is ok for rough testing of some things. And as Jesper said you use xcode, which is reasonably comparable to visual studio.

iKO2 sounds cool but would surely be awful to play on a touch screen.
