Gianfranco Zola has Chelsea in his heart, and although he was one of the greatest players in the world, I don't think he understands the passion of West Ham United supporters or our great tradition. Other fans of London clubs are more tolerant than West Ham fans - we consider our club a place of worship. I really hope he pulls it off quickly, because we won't give him alot of time - especially because he was Chelsea through and through: our worst enemy. He has a big shock coming that's for sure. He's either going to be the the most adored manager in England, or he'll be receiving daily death threats that will probably force him out. Good luck Zola!

I honestly fear for West Ham...where's all the money gone? Didn't that Icelandic owner (biscuit owner) have a shedload of money and was going to make West Ham a team for the Champions League?
You have no money, are selling your best players and now you have an inexperienced manager. Not looking good at all and West Ham deserve better. It seems you'r buying into Zola's past as opposed to his managerial skills.

Hmmm... You make some good points. I am wondering where all the money has gone too. However I'm not so sure we are selling our BEST players. Ashton, Bellamy, Parker, Dyer, Bowyer, Faubert, Green, Noble, etc are going nowhere. And to be fair, Ljungberg and Ferdinand didn't do anything last season, and George McCartney is average. You have got me thinking though . . .

Ashton will go in January
Bellamy and Dyer are constantly injured
Parker, Noble and Bowyer are average
Faubert, Green ... who?
If that's all West Ham have to offer ... they'll soon be playing Forrest

Ashton has just signed a five year contract, and I doubt he's going anywhere. You are correct about Bellamy and Dyer though, but they are still class and they will be back.
Scott Parker is a class act, and MarK Noble has arguably been the best England under 21's player for a while. Yes, Bowyer has been injured alot too but he's still a good player.
Faubert was considered one of the best players in the French squad, until he picked up that bad injury which ruled him out for the whole of last season. Admittedly, wether he performs in the Premiership is yet to be seen, but hes only just come back.
As for Robert Green: Only David James was better than him last season in my opinion. He was our player of the year, and few keepers have earned a team so many points in a season. Saying that, I'm a Hammers fan so perhaps I'm a little biased . . .

Not a bad start for Zola at all! 3-1 is a very good result even though Newcastle are having problems.
