I have now retired...

Talk about everything but Kick Off.

I have now retired...

Postby Sid » Fri Jul 06, 2007 8:45 am

I have now semi-retired from Kick Off.

I don't know when I will play again. Perhaps the German Champs, perhaps the World Cup ... or maybe even after those...?

I don't know ... I'm hanging up my joystick for a while.

Suddenly burn so pale?

It seems to me, that he lived his Kick Off life, like a candle in the wind.

Well, my retirement was short lived! haha
After that I see how I feel ... but at least that is 2 months away...
I will not be practising at all in the meantime though, probably pack up the Amiga ...well, they have not been set-up again after the UKC's.

Goodbye knobby Sid
You beat hardly anyone at all
But had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you scored
Many times you hit the woodwork
But never improved your game
And on the downward spiral
You are quitting out in shame

And it seems to me you lived your Kick Off life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing what to cling to
When the rot set in
And I'm sad to say I've known you
Now you're acting like a kid
You never won a tournament
When even Stainy did

Only older KOA members will get this (if), I guess:

Blew it all away
everybody's talking about it
just what did Sid say?
he turned around and said "FUCK EVERYBODY"

What's the matter, Mandhir? Was the dessert too heavy for your stomach?

Nice one Mark!

Actually, this has all the makings of one of those dubbed Martial Arts B-movies. Fighter gets beaten up on, has enough and quits the realms. He goes in search of the temperamental hermit master who has lived in seclusion since he was outcast by other fighters many moons ago. After an eternity of training and harsh tutelage, the fighter emerges and wipes the floor with everyone.

In Sid's case, I can see him spending a lot of time in North London over the next few months, and then making last minute entry into the world cup, where he will end up competing in the game of shame. :D
