Just had another KOG squad idea...

Why don't I change my fantasy football team name to ko-gathering.com ? And get myself in as many different leagues (10 is the maximum) ?

It could draw the odd interested footy fan ? Nothing to lose I reckon! :)

Posted from another thread:

Why dont you guys send a mailer out to every single member of the KOA? I know it was done a few months ago but its a surefire way to get existing members back here.

I appreciate there might be a fear that they will be regarded as spam but in my opinion, they expressed an interest and thus joined this place, so Im sure they would appreciate being kept on the loop on any new developments. I reckon we should do it monthly and have links to reviews of all the tournaments played during that month...perhaps?

I receive weekly emails from Apple, Monster, Empireonline...big, respected companies so I doubt this would put the KOA in the bad light. It would help keep a communication with people who are unable to visit this great place - and if they were annoyed with the constant emails? Give them the option of removing them from the mailing list.

If we have a list of all the members emails then i have no qualms in sending this monthly newsletter out through Outlook and then people can reply if they want to be removed.

There is a lot of untapped Kick Off players 'out there' - by sending about 10 emails on Lemon Amiga, I managed to get 6 people who said they'd check out the site and 1 who brought an Amiga and was thankful this place existed. Im sure if we put a lot more effort we could get more users (and more uk players! Smile )

Basically, I really wish I had found this forum when it first started and I would have loved to have gone to the first world cup, let alone all the other fantastic ones since. But now it seems that a part of the forum is stagnating, with a lot of the 'old guard' seemingly hanging up their boots - which is perfectly understandable given how peoples personal situation changes (Marriage, Kids etc)....

Which is the reason why we need to strive to bring in new members! We need to make it calculated and pin point areas...have a Myspace which is updated regulary, have a Facebook which is updated regulary. Iv also contacted Retrogamer and suggested they check out their site and write an article on this fantastic community we have here (I also asked for their submission guidelines with the possibility of writing one myself Smile )

But given that the game is fairly lost in peoples minds due to the natural passage of time, we, the KOA need to seek out people, as opposed to waiting for them.

/gets off high horse.

That someone deserves a big pat on the back - that's a great post! :) 8) Like the way the person concerned gives a bit of background, sings the praises of KO2 without going over the top, and makes the important point about the camaraderie between KOA players 8)

Well done whoever you are! ;)

I gave up on kick off due to to there being no scottish opponents for me to practice with.

Highly runty. Online play is the solution for those without local players. Reinstall home broadband and sort yourself out ffsm!
