KO2: Recruiting for new players...

Postby Sid » Mon Mar 05, 2007 6:40 pm

What do people on here do to recruit new players?
if anything at all....?

I actively go on other forums raving about KO2, and the KOA ... and thats on forums nothing to do with computers and games!!

I've just started a thread on a BMW forum... lets see how much interest I can get!

Also, been campaigning on the AV Forums (along with Mark B) for quite some time...

I've mentioned this forum and the tournaments quite a few times at the Eurgoamer forum - but only when it was related to an on-going topic. I haven't started any 'retro' threads etc...

Interesting topic, Sid! :) And good on ya for spreading the word...

Like Menace I've mentioned the KOA when the subject has come up on the Birmingham City forum I use. I've also pm-ed a local lad on this forum to invite to KOBRA. Plus I've started what I hope are a couple of newcomer friendly threads - Improve your skills and KOA Calendar - that was the idea, anyway!

Still think there's some mileage in the KOA Tour Bus, I mentioned elsewhere!

:?: Why don't we do a mass email out to all registered members of the forum ?

Maybe including links to the koa calendar and latest rankings ? This might draw some old faces out of retirement or even encourage those who have passed through to look a little closer?

Has this been done before ? How easy is this to do, durban ?

A good time to do this might be ahead of the wc or ukc, once the details have been finalised ?

Anyone got any thoughts on this ?

I wouldn't say I've been campaigning, I mention it if it's relevant but other than that I do nothing. Certainly wouldn't say I actively pursue new members.

There should be another option: Not Anymore

David and me tried really hard to find more players, we did it for years, created a web, wrote in forums... Last time I did was in a games forum before Cologne 2005. Nothing found.

Now I will not do it anymore. If there is someone out there in Spain, who really loved the game and did a little research, must have found the KOA.

I thought about that option... and for now that would "no" (unless mods add it in)

I wonder how many registered forum members are in Spain ? I think its worth emailing everyone incase it might re-awaken the KO2 interest ? If it doesn't then its only an email and if nothing else it might bring some fresh traffic to the forum ?

I would if I could but I'm just a regular member - think this can only be done by someone like Durban ? I'll pm him to see what he thinks... besides if this is done, its probably more effective being done before a big KOA event i.e wc or ukc or both!

I have written pm's to all the spaniards that once in a while register here: most of them unanswered, 4 of them simply unread... I insist, not anymore.

This association is free, open to everyone, and those who do not belong here is because they do not want to.
