Re: Nordic Championship May 24, 2008 | Results: Page 6

Alkis, please recognize that we have two different issues. The first issue is the database. In a database you only want results from actual games. The database is used for statistics and maybe a ranking list. The second issue is the Nordic Championship. What should the final table of this tournament...

Re: Nordic Championship May 24, 2008 | Results: Page 6

OK, consider this simple situation. I beat player A, while I lose to player B. Late in the tournament, A and B are competing to win the tournament, while I have no chance left. Now, if I left, I think everybody would feel that it would be unfair to erase my results against A and B. They both fought ...

Re: Nordic Championship May 24, 2008 | Results: Page 6

I agree, it will always be a messy situation, and there is no guaranteed golden bullet to resolve it to everybody's satisfaction. Here's another way to look at it: We have a 16 round tournament. After 8 rounds, a player leaves, for one reason or another (maybe he got sick, maybe he just didn't want ...

Re: Nordic Championship May 24, 2008 | Results: Page 6

Let me add something to clarify: There are two subjects to discuss: 1) Whether to register results in centralized official records. 2) Whether to register results in the tournament table. With regard to 1, I think the case is clear. The result of any game played under proper conditions and mutually ...

Re: Nordic Championship May 24, 2008 | Results: Page 6

For perspective, here is what is done in the chess world in a situation like this: 1) The tournament table will indeed register a win for the offended player (and a loss for the other - if two no-shows are paired, they both get a loss). 2) The game itself is NOT recorded as an official game. It has ...

Re: Nordic Championship May 24, 2008 | Results: Page 6

i am now taking a practice session with John under the most stressful circustances imaginable. 2 children 5 and 2 years old running around screaming, pushing the ko2players. I had a clear run towards goal with Barber when Harry, 5, came and run into my joystick-handling right arm. I would like to s...

Re: The sunday online tournament thread

Thanks for playing. Another funny night. I welcome people to simply drop into the chat and see if anybody is up for a game. That's how we got this tournament going at a moment's notice.

Re: KO2 Competition Version Wish List

Feature request: In Int. Friendly games, it should be possible to choose the same nation for both sides. In tournaments in Denmark, we always used the national teams (maybe due to A>B). But frequently, both sides wanted the same national team, and a draw had to be made. Because of this, total fairne...
