Re: Great pleasure to announce

As Mark has started a tradition of naming children after leading KOA members I was thinking of following suit:
If it's a boy then Jorn or Rodolfo, gentlemen of the KOA
If it's a big girl then James Beard
and if it's gay then Pedro!!!

Re: Greece: Will this nightmare ever end?

Really good post from Robert, explaining in a nice jargon-free way what has happened and why. What I now need is the same explaination of the free market. Because, as I see it, the free market is a place that exists next to the communist utopia. Robert says this isn't capitalism but it is the perfec...

Re: Greece: Will this nightmare ever end?

Just popped in to see how the Greek guys were doing and posted my two cents worth (all I can afford these days) Was gonna ask the general opinion about the Olympics back in 2004 - I seem to recall a lot of positivity from you guys, was this the feeling at the time? Can I ask how much it cost the Gre...

Re: Greece: Will this nightmare ever end?

The nightmare will NEVER end. It just moves from place to place. Somalian famine - lost all interest long ago but it is another symptom of the disease. The disease is of course CAPITALISM and when it works it is great but now we see that it doesn't work for long, and mostly not at all for most of th...

Re: Something must be done about these clowns

Thought I'd poke my nose in... This is part of the game, and as such should be applauded as a skill. Unfortunately that's what football has come to.
As for me, I'd like to see this done to them:

Re: WC 2010 - Random thoughts

Rod, I think the reason they apologise is because they are genuinely sorry. Sorry for their own lack of skill, desire and imagination. They know it is their best opportunity to score. Imagine that! all the diverse and amazing goals possible but they've only ever mastered that...I'd be sorry. Sorry t...

Re: 10th KO2 World Cup - Dagh Won - ALL RESULTS NOW ON PAGE

Just like to add my congrats to the long list. Well done Dagh, and to everyone, winners and losers for enjoying another successful world cup. Just when you think the skills of Kick Off have been perfected someone new comes along and takes it to another level. Nice to have a new champion, but commise...

Re: The 2010 FIFA World Cup thread

Just thought I'd pop in again. Mainly to congratulate the Iberians on a decent game, Portugal defended brilliantly, but Spain look fantastic going forward. However, like the other teams I've seen they seem a bit dodgy at the back, maybe just nerves? Look forward to their semi (the quarters against P...

Re: The 2010 FIFA World Cup thread

Just had to pop by and give my comments on the game yesterday. As a neutral Germany v England is a great spectacle and yesterday was again, for different reasons mostly. A disastrous decision, not even slightly close to call, and then 2-2. And who's to say England wouldn't have got another quick goa...

Re: Greece. WTF?

Thanks for your thoughts on this guys. It seems that everyone agrees that the 'opposition', depending on where you work, is a necessary evil. People need to make money but we need services to look after people. Getting the balance right is the trick and no one seems happy in their own countries that...

Re: Can the UK learn from other European Democracies?

I love that sentence (not the first one the last one!) Keep me safe, keep me fairly free and don't waste my time with a vote... trouble is the vote wields some power... but we hand it over far too easily. The whole system must surely stink if Myself and Rodolfo, from opposite ends of the political s...

Re: Can the UK learn from other European Democracies?

God knows how you can compare footballers and actors to politicians. Making plans for other people, and spending THEIR money is something that requires dedication. Dedication is the only comparison maybe. But footballers and actors only do their job for the money and the adoration. Spending money on...
